Position Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized Buyer to join our team in Surrey, BC.. Your work will directly contribute to the production of high-quality wheelchair lifts, stairlifts, elevators, and other essential equipment.

This is a 100% on-site position

Essential Duties and Requirements

  • Monitor inventory levels and identify purchasing requirements based on Syteline MRP outputs
  • Prepare, issue, and process purchase orders in a timely and accurate manner
  • Calculate and analyze inventory statistics to ensure optimal supply levels for manufacturing operations
  • Review and coordinate global supply replenishment across multiple intercompany sites, optimizing for cost efficiency and lead-time requirements
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of MRP replenishment techniques and best practices
  • Generate weekly reports for open POs, RMAs, defects and other purchasing activities to support monthly targets and KPIs
  • Works closely with the Quality team and suppliers to ensure incoming materials meet company quality standards
  • Monitor supplier performance through SLAs and create develop supplier scorecards for review and improvement
  • Lead and participate in procurement initiatives focused on cost reduction, risk mitigation, and process improvement

Team Environment

  • Collaborate with Senior Planner and Planning Administrators to support planning and scheduling activities
  • Partner with transportation vendors to coordinate and expedite incoming materials, and selecting the appropriate mode of transport based on inventory levels to ensure an uninterrupted supply chain
  • Work directly with Production Supervisors and Managers to address special purchasing requirements including vendor evaluations, price analysis, and pilot programs
  • Collaborate with Engineering and R&D teams to obtain accurate specifications, drawings, and alternate sourcing options
  • Support and assist with preparation and physical counting activities during the annual inventory count

Mindset, Skills & Education

  • Energetic, eager, tenacious!
  • Post secondary degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, or a related discipline
  • Certified or working toward APICS, Professional Logistics, and/or PMAC
  • Minimum 3 years experience in procurement, ideally within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of Material Management modules and ERP functionality
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including use of PivotTables, XLOOKUP
  • Ability to support and assist with cloud-based IT material management (MM) software
  • Strong data analytics capability
  • Solid understanding of KPIs and PowerBI dashboard creation
  • Experience with custom parts and materials management is an asset
  • Excellent negotiation skills and superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously
