Sign Fabricator - FL in Tampa, Florida at Stones River Electric

We are seeking a skilled Sign Fabricator Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the fabrication and assembly of a variety of signage, including dimensional and electrical signs. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of factory drawings, a variety of fabrication materials and tools, and a commitment to delivering high-quality signage. Occasionally, this role will involve fieldwork to assist installation teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Sign Fabrication: Produce a variety of signage types, including illuminated wall and ground signs. Read and interpret design drawings to ensure accurate fabrication. Cut and assemble sign components using MIG welding techniques on aluminum.
• Material Preparation: Prepare materials for production, including cutting, welding, painting, and finishing.
• Installation Support: Ensure signs are ready for secure transportation and installation. Assist installation teams on-site when needed.
• Quality Control: Ensure fabricated signs meet design specifications and quality standards. Perform routine inspections of signs during production.
• Equipment Maintenance & Operation: Operate and maintain fabrication tools and equipment, ensuring proper working condition.
• Safety: Adhere to safety protocols while working with equipment and machinery. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Additional technical training or certifications in sign fabrication or a related field is a plus.
• Experience: 2+ years of experience in sign fabrication or a related trade.
• Skills: Strong knowledge of sign-making materials (e.g., metals, plastics, vinyl). Proficiency with power tools, welding equipment, and machinery. Attention to detail and ability to follow design specifications precisely. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks. Comfort working in an industrial environment with varying temperatures and noise levels.

Working Conditions:
Primarily workshop-based with occasional outdoor installation or delivery tasks. Some overtime or weekend work may be required to meet project deadlines.
