Responsibilities
As a Survey CAD Technician, you’ll play a key role in bringing survey data to life by transforming field information into accurate, high-quality deliverables that support impactful projects. Working alongside our Survey, Aerial, and SUE teams, you’ll gain exposure to cutting-edge technology in the A/E/C industry while continuing to build your technical skills and career. This role reports to a Project Manager and offers the opportunity to grow from foundational tasks into more advanced project contributions based on your experience.
- Process survey data in accordance with SAM standards, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project and industry requirements
- Perform quality control checks on field data and deliverables, with increasing responsibility based on experience
- Monitor field crew production and support quality assurance efforts
- Collaborate with Project Managers and team members to meet client-specific requirements and project timelines
- (Level II/III) Assist with or lead more complex drafting tasks, problem-solving, and workflow improvements
Qualifications
- Experience in surveying, geomatics, or a related field, with a solid understanding of land surveying principles and workflows
- Proven ability to process and evaluate survey data independently, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and alignment with project and industry standards
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, with the ability to produce high-quality deliverables efficiently
- Strong technical and analytical skills, including proficiency in geometry and trigonometry as applied to surveying tasks
- Experience performing quality control on survey data and deliverables, with the ability to identify issues and coordinate solutions with field teams
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and support project timelines
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
- SIT (Surveyor-in-Training) certification or CST (Certified Survey Technician) designation is a plus
