JOB TITLE: FINANCIAL CONSULTANT
DEPARTMENT: Administrative
SUPERVISOR: Chief Executive Officer
EXEMPT/NON-EXEMPT: Exempt – Irregular hourly
SUPERVISES: None
JOB SUMMARY: The Financial Consultant provides expert advisory guidance to the organization surrounding all financial matters based on knowledge, skills, and abilities garnered through experience and education. The overall outcome is designed to improve fiscal performance by recommending revision when necessary and strengthening overall revenue systems and operations. The role will support long-term operations and sustainability by providing insight, recommendations, and analysis of financial challenges unique to behavioral health and rural communities.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Follow Willapa Behavioral Health & Wellness Service Excellence Standards / Code of Ethics and Policies and Procedures.
1. Adhere to rules of confidentiality.
2. Respect and accommodate a diverse population.
3. Maintain appropriate boundaries with clients and staff.
4. Work on-site as necessary or remotely using telehealth technology as determined by management.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Conduct financial assessments including revenue cycle review, payer mix analysis, and cost structure evaluation.
2. Review key financials including balances, statements, ledgers, revenue flow cycles, and other relevant accounting data to identify trends, redundancies, gaps, opportunities, processes, risks, and other areas where strategic recommendations can be made improving efficiency or overall effectiveness.
3. Identify and recommend areas where strategic financial strategies may lead to improvement in fiscal stability and/or increase positive fiscal margins.
4. Develop and present data that will influence and guide leadership to accept the recommendations and strategies provided, paving the way for effective long-term financial stability.
5. Provide guidance and continuous advisory support throughout the implementation of new or redesigned processes.
Requirements:Experience providing financial guidance to executive level leadership in Behavioral
Health.
Expertise in reimbursement, billing, insurance processing, financial operations,
revenue systems, and regulatory requirements for Behavioral Health.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent analytical and planning skills.
Strong computer proficiency with knowledge and understanding of accounting
software, as well as other electronic financial systems used in Behavioral Health.
Ability to work irregular and non-recurring hours providing recommendations,
analysis, analytics, strategies, and insights only.
Undergo and pass criminal background check upon initial employment and any
subsequent checks required by the agency.
Meet requirements of agency’s drug free workplace policy.
Able to sit, stand, and work in an office environment without issue.
