About This Position

POSITION SUMMARY:

Puyallup Chocolates is seeking a hands-on eCommerce Marketing Manager to own the end-to-end digital growth and operational performance of our direct-to-consumer chocolate business. This role requires a blend of technical platform management, creative campaign execution, and hands-on fulfillment leadership. This position is accountable for revenue growth, customer experience, and the day-to-day health of our eCommerce operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Platform Management

  • Own and maintain a high-functioning Shopify storefront and wholesale marketplaces (e.g., Faire)
  • Manage integrations between eCommerce platforms, marketing tools, and ERP systems to ensure accurate inventory, order flow, and reporting

Campaign Strategy & Execution

  • Plan and execute seasonal and monthly campaigns across the site and lifecycle channels
  • Own site merchandising, homepage refreshes, and promotional execution
  • Produce and manage creative assets utilizing Canva and Photoshop

Customer Acquisition & Retention

  • Drive revenue via Klaviyo (email/SMS flows), paid advertising, and subscription growth
  • Build data-driven strategies to convert first-time buyers into repeat customers

Content & Branding

  • Manage product listings, write compelling descriptions, and ensure all digital touchpoints align a premium brand experience
  • Maintain consistency across imagery, copy, and merchandising

Operations & Fulfillment

  • Lead the fulfillment team to ensure accurate, timely shipping and order execution
  • Oversee temperature-sensitive logistics, including insulated packaging and cold-chain shipping practices

Customer Experience & On-the-Ground Support

  • Manage all online customer service operations and handle escalations
  • Provide additional hands-on support for the factory store, pop-ups, and consumer events as needed

Company Focus

  • Identify opportunities for improvements, identify potential areas of risk, and promptly share critical business information with key stakeholders to maximize results throughout Puyallup Chocolates
  • Coordinate effective teamwork and use all company resources efficiently to promote superior financial results for Puyallup Chocolates; maintain Puyallup Chocolates equipment and assets to maximize ROI
  • Establish and maintain effective business relationships with all employees, vendors, business partners, government/regulatory entities, and communities in which we operate
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding all sensitive and proprietary business information and safeguard Puyallup Chocolates assets at all times

REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum

  • BS/BA degree in marketing, communications, or equivalent
  • 2 + years eCommerce Marketing management experience and relevant experience in DTC consumer goods
  • Highly organized; able to multi-task and effectively manage seasonal calendars, inventory syncs, campaigns, and fulfillment schedules simultaneously
  • Persistent problem solver; able to proactively resolve technical, operational, and logistics issues with minimal oversight
  • Cross functional communicator; able to proactively communicate across Production, Sales, Fulfilment, and Finance to identify risks early and effectively resolve/meet operational metrics
  • Strong verbal and written skills in English; sharp eye for brand, tone, and premium presentation
  • Advanced proficiency in Shopify, Klaviyo, and Canva, including behavior-based email/SMS flows and segmentation
  • Experience managing API-based integrations between eCommerce tools and ERP systems
  • Working knowledge of perishable shipping, including gel packs, dry ice, and insulated packaging
  • Comfortable working in a small, fast-paced team and assisting with projects in other departments as needed, including fullfillment/packaging
  • No food-related allergies to chocolate, milk, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, wheat, and/or soy products
  • Uncompromising integrity and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Culturally sensitive and works well with the full diversity of our company and community
  • Ability to occasionally work non-standard hours to accommodate business needs, including nights, weekends, and holidays during peak seasons, product launches, and major gifting periods
  • Ability to pass background check

Preferred

  • Experience with DTC consumer in food & beverage, gifting, and/or premium/luxury retail
