Executive Director at Hickory Treatment Centers

Department: Executive Director

Direct Report To: Regional Director of Operations

About the Role:

The Executive Director (ED) is the key management leader for the facility. The Executive Director is responsible for overseeing the administration, programs, and strategic plan of the organization.

Under the immediate supervision of the Regional Director of Operations, the Executive Director is responsible for fiscal management that generally anticipates operating within the approved budget, ensures maximum resource utilization, and maintenance of the organization in a positive financial position.

Job Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • 3-5 years senior management experience required
  • The ability to prioritize and multi-task, with exceptional time management skills.
  • Ability to competently encourage and inspire direct reports in the delivery of stellar clinical services through professionalism.
  • Scheduling flexibility REQUIRED to accommodate varied client admissions.
  • Must hold a valid driver's license with acceptable driving record and provide own insured transportation.
Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management & Budget Oversight

  • Approves facility expenditure and reviews accounts payable reports
  • Reviews monthly budget, expenses, and prepares variance reports
  • Maintains petty cash and accurate accounting of cash expenditures
  • Reports capital improvement and expense needs to the corporate office in a timely manner

Billing, Census, & Payroll

  • Oversee accurate census recording and payor source information for billing
  • Monitors labor hours, overtime, and staffing ratios based on census
  • Reviews and approves payroll reporting records

Human Resources & Staff Development

  • Monitors recruiting activities to ensure candidates meet staffing needs
  • Adheres to corporate HR policies and procedures
  • Supports staff education, orientation, and ongoing training
  • Ensures employee performance and competency reviews are completed on time
  • Develops corrective action plans when needed
  • Exemplifies professional boundaries, appearance, demeanor, and communication

Clinical Oversight & Quality of Care

  • Monitors provision and documentation of care, treatment, and services
  • Conducts EMR audits and validation activities
  • Ensures admission and discharge (graduation, administrative, AMA) procedures are followed
  • Ensures care and services are within licensure, certification, and accreditation scope
  • Ensure medication management practices meet professional standards

Client Experience & Performance Improvement

  • Acknowledges client concerns and suggestions
  • Reviews client satisfaction data and uses it for performance improvement

Safety, Compliance & Risk Management

  • Follows facility-wide infection control practices
  • Monitors incident reports for clients, staff, and visitors, ensuring required follow-up
  • Adheres to employee injury and illness reporting requirements
  • Maintains adherence to HIPPAA compliance in all client communication
  • Has working knowledge of state and federal compliance laws
  • Has working knowledge of Joint Commission Requirements
  • Follows all corporate, regulatory, and accrediting body reporting requirements

Environment of Care & Facility Operations

  • Oversees environment of care management plans (safety, fire safety, security, utilities, medical equipment, hazardous waste/materials)
  • Schedules and holds outside vendors accountable for maintenance and repairs
  • Maintains IT networks and devices; notify corporate IT of service disruptions
  • Protects and maintains company assets in good working order

Compensation: $75,000-$95,000/yr
