Landscape Maintenance Technician (Commercial Beds)

Location: Nashville, TN
Employment Type: Full-Time
Pay: $23/hr + based on experience


Schedule

Full-time, 40 hours per week
Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM (includes 30-minute unpaid lunch)
Occasional weekend work may be required
Schedule may vary slightly due to seasonal demands and weather conditions

Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Landscape Maintenance Technician (Commercial Beds) to join our team. This role focuses on maintaining planting beds, ornamental landscapes, shrubs, flowers, and general landscaped areas across commercial and institutional properties.

The ideal candidate has strong horticultural knowledge and hands-on experience in plant care, including pruning, mulching, weeding, seasonal planting, and overall commercial landscape bed maintenance, while also supporting general grounds and lawn maintenance as needed.

This position requires driving a company vehicle and servicing multiple client sites daily (roaming route work).

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and enhance landscape beds through weeding, edging, mulching, pruning, deadheading, and seasonal planting
  • Monitor plant health and identify pests, diseases, irrigation issues, and nutrient deficiencies, reporting concerns and recommending improvements as needed
  • Support irrigation checks and minor adjustments
  • Perform mowing, trimming, edging, and blowing as required
  • Remove leaves, debris, and storm damage to maintain clean and safe outdoor environments
  • Safely operate hand tools and commercial landscaping equipment, ensuring proper care and adherence to safety standards
  • Follow all company procedures and job site expectations
  • Complete daily electronic timesheets accurately and on time
  • Maintain punctual attendance and the ability to work independently across assigned routes
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of landscaping, gardening, or bed maintenance experience
  • Strong knowledge of plant care, pruning, mulching, planting, and seasonal landscape practices
  • Experience operating commercial landscaping equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Reliable, punctual, and strong work ethic
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and the ability to safely operate a company vehicle while traveling between job sites
  • Must pass a criminal background check and fingerprinting screening due to work in school and child-adjacent environments
  • Must comply with all non-smoking campus and facility requirements

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift to 50 lbs regularly
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and wind
