National Airlines, based in Orlando, FL, operates passenger charter service as well as customized military and commercial air cargo carriages worldwide. National Airlines specializes in over-sized, time sensitive, and special handling requirements, utilizing 747-400 and A-330 aircraft to accomplish its missions.

Job Title: Maintenance Planning Supervisor

Location: Orlando, FL

Department: Maintenance

Reports To: Manager of Heavy Maintenance

FLSA Status: Exempt

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for Planning Department processes.
  • Identifies any changes that will enhance departmental process quality and submit Maintenance Program Revision Requests for applicable policy and procedure changes.
  • Coordinates and monitors aircraft maintenance activities for compliance with FARs and Company policy and procedures.
  • Assists in the indoctrination of new aircraft to National Airlines fleet and maintenance programs.
  • Facilitates resolution of technical problems for timely repair of aircraft.
  • Reviews the AMOS Maintenance Forecast Report daily.
  • Identify and plan for items coming due.
  • Provides advice and direction for correcting technical problems.
  • Coordinates maintenance requirements with line maintenance, heavy maintenance, and stores to ensure completion of maintenance tasks.
  • Monitors technical performance for chronic problems.
  • Coordinates scheduling of planned maintenance and routing of aircraft for priority maintenance purposes.
  • Oversee the development of maintenance programs and modifications to improve efficiency and cost control.
  • Liaisons with the Operations, Maintenance Control, Inspection, and Maintenance departments.
  • Oversee the creation of forecasts for material and logistics for all check levels in conjunction with material planning.
  • Oversee the identification and implementation of tooling requirements and the development of programs for peculiar ground support equipment.
  • Provides data and reports as required by higher management to monitor the performances of various maintenance and engineering environments.
  • Works closely with the Quality Control department in reading, interpreting, and implementing Airworthiness Directives and Service Bulletins.
  • Assists in the revision of all company manuals pertaining to aircraft.
  • Initiate Short Term Escalation Requests when necessary.
  • Perform any other duty as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • A valid FAA Mechanic Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) ratings preferred.
  • 3 years’ experience in a position responsible for returning aircraft to service.
  • Have at least 3 years of experience in a supervisory capacity maintaining the same category and class of aircraft as the Company operates.
  • Knowledge of FAA regulations Parts 65, 91, 121.
  • Have at least 3 years’ experience in maintaining large airplanes with an air carrier.

Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, keyboard, telephone, copy machine/printer.
  • Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work
  • Light to moderate lifting up to 10 pounds.

Work Environment:

  • Moderate noise (i.e., business offices with computers, phones, printers, and overhead lights).
  • Ability to work in a confined office or open cubicle environment
