Job Description
We are currently seeking a Patient Care MGR for our 3 South Short Stay Observation unit at Moffitt Cancer Center:
The Patient Care Manager Specialty (PCMS) is a registered professional nurse who has a direct impact
on the care and services that
patient's and families require throughout their hospital experience. The PCMS reports to the Director of
Nursing and/or
CNO and is responsible for the continual operation and performance of a specified nursing unit or service
on a 24/7
basis.
The PCMS uses critical thinking skills, creativity, and knowledge to manage resources to achieve quality performance,
positive employee relations, and compliance with hospital guidelines. The PCMS is skilled in coaching,
motivating,
mentoring, and leading a professional and technical team in the delivery of services for our patient
population. The PCM
is the change agent for the assigned patient care area and will be responsible for implementing as well
as overseeing any
changes that a nursing unit and/or service is required to undergo.
Miniumum EDUCATION: Bachelors of Nursing
Preferred: Masters
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: Current FL Nursing license
Minimum Experience Required
Must have a minimum of three (3) years progressive leadership experience in nursing

Supervision/ Leadership

3. Ability to supervise and train staff, including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling assignments
4. Ability to operational guidance and leadership to all professional and technical staff
5. Ability to assist and support staff during transition and change
Technical Knowledge
1. Basic and advanced skills in multiple computer software environments.
2. Skills in formulating, revising, and implementing policies, procedures, and standards.
3. Demonstrated ability to plan and organize unit environment to provide optimal care to patients
4. Ability to research, analyze, and conceptualize long-term strategic plans.
5. Excellent communication skill
