About This Position
BASIC PURPOSE:
The Injection Molding Account Manager serves as the primary commercial and relationship owner for assigned customer accounts. This role is responsible for managing existing business, supporting new program launches, coordinating internal resources, and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the product lifecycle—from quoting and tooling through production and ongoing support.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Customer Relationship Management
· Act as the primary point of contact for assigned customer accounts
· Build and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships
· Understand customer business needs, technical requirements, and program timelines
· Manage customer communications related to pricing, schedules, quality, and delivery
Sales & Business Development
· Support RFQs and quoting activities in coordination with estimating and engineering
· Identify opportunities for new business, program expansions, and cost-down initiatives
· Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, and program changes
· Forecast sales and manage account-level revenue targets
Program & Launch Support
· Coordinate new program launches from award through production ramp-up
· Work cross-functionally with engineering, tooling, quality, and operations
· Ensure customer requirements are clearly communicated and met
· Track milestones for tooling, sampling (T0–PPAP), and production readiness
Internal Coordination
· Serve as the voice of the customer internally
· Align customer expectations with manufacturing capabilities and constraints
· Facilitate resolution of issues related to quality, delivery, or cost
· Support continuous improvement and cost-reduction initiatives
Reporting & Administration
· Maintain accurate account records, pricing, and forecasts in CRM or ERP systems
· Prepare customer presentations, reviews, and performance reports
· Support contract management and change control documentation
Requirements:QUALIFICATIONS:
Required
· 3+ years of experience in account management, sales, or customer-facing roles in injection molding or plastics manufacturing
· Strong understanding of injection molding processes, tooling, and materials
· Ability to interpret customer drawings, specifications, and program requirements
· Strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills
· Proficiency with CRM, ERP, and Microsoft Office tools
Preferred
· Experience managing OEM or Tier 1 customers
· Familiarity with automotive, medical, industrial, or consumer molded products
· Experience supporting tooling builds and product launches
· Background in engineering, manufacturing, or project management
