About This Position
G‑3 Chickadee—formerly part of Goodyear Chemical—is undergoing a major transformation. As a newly independent, Private Equity–backed organization, we are modernizing our infrastructure, implementing new systems (SAP, MES, cybersecurity), and building a strong operational foundation for continued growth.
We are seeking a Chemical Business Manager to drive world‑class environmental, health, and safety (EHS) and security compliance to protect employees, communities, facilities, and the environment—while strengthening our competitive position. This role oversees ongoing compliance through auditing and leads the development and implementation of EHS systems, policies, and strategies.
The manager will build partnerships with industry, agencies, and universities to improve EHS&S performance cost‑effectively. They will lead the creation and communication of internal and external metrics, track business‑unit performance, take corrective action when needed, and deliver quarterly reports.
This position ensures every plant has qualified, trained, and motivated EHS&S team leaders, and that plant leadership and staff receive appropriate education and awareness. The manager must maintain deep knowledge of current and emerging environmental issues affecting the business unit, as well as global issues that could impact operations.
What You’ll Do
- Provide leadership direction across Chemical Operations fostering business and regional consensus-building.
- Ensure Chemical Operations maintain compliance in all areas of EHS&S and has best-in-class EHS&S practices.
- Make certain you are current on regulatory/compliance issues and overall trends that may impact EHS&S for the company.
- Provide consultative guidance to all levels of management for all EHS policies.
- Provide functional support to senior staff and operating management and assist them in achieving their EHS objectives.
- Develop industry-accepted EHS&S standards and ensure its distribution and implementation throughout the organization.
- Collaborate with EHS&S, Risk Management and Human Resource (HR) professionals in developing audit protocols ensuring all Chemical Operations locations follow group EHS&S standards.
- Assist business groups in providing functional guidance for their implementation of standards and conducting audits for existing facilities and those recently acquired.
- Ensure that qualified, capable individuals are involved with EHS&S at all Chemical Operations locations while providing guidance as needed.
- Recommend key risk management measures to Senior Management mitigating the experience.

- Establish, promote and monitor the effectiveness of G3’s chemical plant EHS&S programs/practices and develop effective awareness tools designed to communicate group-wide initiatives (globally).
- Track new product development through, Research and Development (R&D) and Manufacturing Leadership and advise on permitting strategies to achieve objectives.
- Provide stewardship for the group’s EHS&S Coordinator.
- Network through hosting corporate/regional in-house development programs/workshops and actively participate in EHS committees.
- Assist in developing specialized EHS programs.
- Provide essential EHS management information tools that sufficiently track the frequency and severity of EHS incidents throughout Chemical Operations.
- Provide stewardship for the group’s EHS&S Coordinator. Network through hosting corporate/regional in-house development programs/workshops. Actively participating in EHS committees. What You Bring
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene or Safety or a Bachelor’s degree with a certification in safety or industrial hygiene
- 10+ years of experience in Technical Leadership and Direction
- 10+ years Conducting EHS&S studies and maintaining compliance
Preferred
- Master’s degree in engineering, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene or Safety Health, Safety or Industrial Hygiene certification
- Proven ability to manage EHS&S programs, collaborating with internal associates and outside resources
- Prior responsibility for compliance with corporate, state and federal regulations for the chemical (or related) industry
- Experienced in setting goals for the EHS&S performance of facilities and defining the metrics used to measure performance
- Experience in participating with corporate environmental engineering groups and defining global environmental policies and health and safety initiatives
- Ability to formulate and implement an EHS&S plan for the business
- General knowledge of OSHA, PSM, air, water and waste regulations, with emphasis in air quality issues
- Ability to lead, challenge and motivate managers while ensuring they maintain regulatory compliance and comply with corporate EHS&S policy and reporting requirements
- Knowledge of current and proposed future regulations that affect chemical plants and the potential impact to business strategies
- Ability to communicate effectively with trade and community organizations to promote positive image of organizational performance in EHS&S
