Position Summary
Serves as dishwasher for the Sun City Lincoln Hills Community Association’s Meridians Restaurant. Responsibilities include washing and properly storing all cooking utensils, china, flatware, and glassware. Responsible for cleaning and maintaining equipment and facilities. Assists in basic food preparation. Ensure that all services are conducted and fulfilled in a manner consistent with the goals and objectives of Sun City Lincoln Hills Community Association.
Key Responsibilities
• Prerinse, soak and wash wares in dishwashing machine with provided chemicals and supplies.
• Scrub pots and pans in pot pink using 3 sink cleaning system and change out water as needed.
• Collect trash from kitchen areas, empty garbage barrels, wash and reline cans with new bags. Break down boxes and place them in compact.
• Examine garbage for mistakenly dropped silverware, dishes, glassware etc.
• Sweep and mop kitchen floors (A.M. Shift) scrub and squeegee kitchen floors (P.M. Shift). Scrub back dock delivery area. Clean up spills immediately.
• Store all dishes and other wares in proper areas and keep these areas organized.
• Drain and change out water in dish machine frequently and keep a dish machine temperature log.
• Other assigned duties as specified by supervisor, to include assisting in food preparation, putting away deliveries, cleaning cooler/freezers/storerooms.
• Ensure that all kitchen items are properly cleaned, sanitized, and organized to support the kitchen and dining operations.
• Handle cleaning chemicals and supplies safely, following all instructions and safety precautions.
• Report any equipment malfunctions or repair needs to the chef.
• Adheres to state and local health and safety regulations. Maintains the highest sanitary standards.
• Other assigned duties as specified by Executive Chef/Sous Chef.
Required Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Food handler’s card.
• Ability to read, write and speak English
Preferred Qualifications
• CPR/AED/First Aid desirable
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Minimum 6 months working experience or aptitude to train.
• Practiced knowledge of proper methods of cleaning and storing dishes.
• Knowledge of proper sanitation procedures is highly preferred
Physical Requirements
• Capable of working extended hours, to include weekends and holidays
as necessary.
• Ability to exchange and receive information through written and oral communications and to make sound decisions. Must be able to speak in a clear and understandable voice so that communications may be conducted with people of various levels of education and capabilities.
• Position involves kneeling, stooping, bending, pushing, shoving, lifting, carrying and moving objects that can weigh up to 60 lbs. This can occur throughout the day.
• This position will alternate between working indoors in a controlled climate and with proper lighting, to an outdoors setting with variable climate and lighting.
Work Environment
• Must be able to work on more than one assignment at a time with frequent interruptions, changes and delays. For safety reasons, employees must remain alert to working conditions and aware of safety, health and environmental concerns.
• Must be able to remain focused and work effectively and cheerfully in an environment that may be stressed due to adversarial situations resulting from the proper performance of duties.
• Must be able to work in a well-lighted, temperature-controlled area sufficient in size to allow freedom of movement to accomplish tasks. May also be exposed to the indoor and outdoor elements with uncontrolled temperatures and varied lighting.
