We are seeking a Safety Coordinator for our composting and mushroom farming facilities located in Kennett Square, PA . The successful candidate will assist the Safety Department in conducting the day-to-day safety activities, minimizing the risk of job-related accidents.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Full-time Loader / Forklift / Pallet Jack operator trainer
• Full-time new hire Safety Orientation facilitator
• Chemical management organizer and Haz Com / GHS coordinator
• LOTO / Confined Space / Haz Com safety trainer
• Safety inspector and STOP Observation facilitator
• Coordinate and perform all EHS required trainings within the company
• Develop and enforce OSHA guidelines, policies, and requirements
• Ensure monthly departmental safety training is completed
• Directing accident investigation procedures
• Intervene in unsafe activities or operations
• Maintain records of safety related incidents and propose corrective actions
• Supporting and facilitating the development of safe work procedures and standard operating procedures
• Conducting regular site safety inspections, creating + communicating action plans to applicable stake holders / applicable operational personnel
• Coordinating and facilitating regular safety meetings
• Supporting in achieving and maintaining
• Safety meeting translator and interpreter.
REQUIREMENTS
• Driver's License required;
• Bilingual - ability to read, comprehend, and communicate in English and Spanish is required.
• 3+ years of experience required, preferably in a food production or agricultural environment
• Good listening and communication skills needed.
• Willingness to assist employees with safety issues and/or concerns.
• Computer skills needed (Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point).
• Verbal and written communication skills required.
• Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Occupational Health & Safety
• Occupational First Aid certification
SKILLS
Forklift / Pallet Jack license preferred
