As an ELA Teacher, you will:
Instruction and Curriculum DeliveryProvide engaging, differentiated lessons aligned with New York State standards.Utilize various co-teaching models and instructional strategies to ensure all students can access the curriculum.Create and deliver small group skill instruction and individualized support during resource periods.Assessment and Data AnalysisFormally and informally assess student learning, analyze data, and track progress toward academic goals.Maintain assessment binders and progress trackers to monitor student achievement.Collaboration and PlanningCollaborate with co-teachers, grade-level teams, and instructional support staff to co-design lessons, share student work, and align instruction with curriculum standards.Participate in regular planning, professional development sessions, and school-wide initiatives.Student Support and AccommodationsEnsure appropriate accommodations are provided in alignment with IEPs and 504 plans, including supplemental aids like graphic organizers and testing accommodations.Implement behavior management techniques to foster a positive and productive learning environment.Family EngagementBuild strong partnerships with families by maintaining consistent communication, sharing both successes and areas for improvement, and actively involving them in their childrens learning journey.Qualifications
Required:
Bachelors degree in Education or related fieldNew York State Teaching Certification in English Language ArtsProficiency in technology, including Google Suite and online learning platformsPreferred:
Masters degree in Education or related field2+ years of successful teaching experience in urban school settingsStrong commitment to promoting equity and critical thinkingSchedule & Commitment
