Position Summary:
Henderson State University invites applications for the position of Marketing and Communications Manager. This position serves as the university's primary digital storyteller, responsible for creating compelling content that enhances the Henderson brand and engages prospective students, current students, alumni, donors, faculty, staff, and friends of the university.
The Marketing and Communications Manager develops and manages social media content, photography, videography, digital marketing materials, and multimedia storytelling that supports recruitment, alumni engagement, fundraising, and university initiatives.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
The successful candidate should possess:
• Excellent writing, editing, grammar, and proofreading skills.
• Strong photography and videography skills, including editing and post-production.
• Graphic design experience using Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, Lightroom, or comparable software).
• Demonstrated ability to create engaging content for social media and digital platforms.
• Knowledge of current social media trends, best practices, and audience engagement strategies.
• Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Creative thinking with exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with faculty, staff, students, alumni, and external partners.
• Familiarity with social media analytics and digital marketing metrics.
General Days/Hours:
Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Additional hours as requested.
Regular and reliable attendance required.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, Digital Media Production, Graphic Design, or a related field.

- Identify and tell compelling stories that showcase the impact of Henderson State University.
Social Media Management
- Develop, implement, and manage the university's social media strategy across all major platforms.
- Create and maintain a content calendar that promotes university news, events, achievements, and initiatives.
- Monitor engagement, respond appropriately to audience interaction, and identify emerging trends and opportunities.
- Track analytics and provide recommendations to improve engagement and audience growth.
Photography & Videography
- Assist with photography and videography for campus events, student life, athletics, academics, alumni activities, and donor engagement.
- Produce high-quality photography and video content for digital marketing, social media, advertising, and university publications.
- Capture stories that reflect the spirit, people, and impact of Henderson State University.
Graphic Design & Digital Marketing
- Design digital graphics and promotional materials for social media, websites, email campaigns, presentations, and digital advertising.
- Assist in the design of print marketing materials, including brochures, postcards, flyers, and event promotions.
- Ensure visual consistency with Henderson State University's brand standards.
Collaboration
- Work collaboratively with campus departments to identify stories and marketing opportunities.
- Support university events through photography, videography, and digital communications.
- Assist with additional marketing and communications projects as assigned.
