Position Description
The Raghunathan Family Fellowship is a Cambridge-based fellowship where the selected fellow will join the Mittal Institute community on Harvard’s campus for the duration of the academic year. The selected Raghunathan Fellow will be expected to be in residence for the full 2027/2028 Academic Year. While working directly with their selected Faculty Mentor on their personal research project (proposed in their application), the Raghunathan Family Fellow will fully engage with the intellectual life at the Mittal Institute and at Harvard. At the end of their residency the Raghunathan fellow will present their work in a Mittal Institute seminar moderated by their faculty mentor. Apart from their own research, fellows will participate in grant and fellowship review, mentor graduate students, and help collaborate on other events and projects at the Institute. The fellow may be invited to teach a Harvard class during the course of their appointment.
Basic Qualifications
Candidates must have received their PhD no later than February 2027, and must have received their PhD within the past five years. Scholars who have not had past opportunities to access Harvard’s resources and who have primarily been educated at institutions in South Asia will be prioritized.

Salary Range
The stipend for this fellowship is $68,000 for a 12-month appointment. The stipend is prorated for shorter appointments.
