Bring your heart for healing to PTHA! At Puyallup Tribal Health Authority (PTHA), we believe that healing happens through connection, community, and culturally grounded care. Rooted in Indigenous values of wellness, balance, and respect, we are dedicated to serving the local tribal community.

We’re seeking a Registered Dietitian who is passionate about whole-person wellness, community health, and empowering patients through nutrition. If you believe meaningful care begins with listening, understanding each person’s unique needs, and building relationships grounded in trust and respect, we invite you to join our team.

What You’ll Do:

As part of our interdisciplinary healthcare team, you’ll help patients and families build healthier lives through practical, personalized, and culturally responsive nutrition care.

  • Provide individualized nutrition care: Conduct nutrition assessments, provide counseling, and develop care plans that reflect each patient’s health needs, preferences, and goals.
  • Support whole-person wellness: Collaborate with medical, behavioral health, and wellness professionals to support patients managing diabetes, obesity, chronic pain, and other health conditions.
  • Educate and empower: Facilitate group education, workshops, and nutrition or wellness classes that help patients make informed, sustainable lifestyle changes.
  • Support families through WIC: Develop and implement nutrition education plans that support the needs of participating families while respecting their cultural values and traditions.
  • Strengthen community health: Contribute to nutrition-related policies, health promotion activities, and wellness initiatives that advance PTHA’s mission.

Perks of the Role:

At PTHA, you’ll find more than a place to work. You’ll be part of a team committed to creating a healing environment where culture, compassion, and community are central to care.

  • Purpose-driven work: Make a meaningful difference in the health and well-being of Native people and families.
  • Collaborative care: Work alongside dedicated healthcare professionals who value teamwork, respect, and shared learning.
  • Culturally grounded practice: Contribute to a care environment that recognizes the importance of Indigenous traditions, cultural humility, and community connection.
  • Professional growth: Access opportunities for continued learning, training, and development.
  • Community impact: Build relationships with the people you serve and help strengthen wellness across the community.

PTHA Employee Benefits:

We believe caring for our community starts with supporting the people who make that care possible. PTHA offers a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your health, financial well-being, and work-life balance.

  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage: PTHA pays 100% of employee monthly premiums, with coverage beginning the first of the month following your hire date.
  • Paid time off: 13 annual vacation days and 13 annual sick leave days.
  • Paid holidays: 18 or more paid holidays each year, including a birthday holiday.
  • Retirement benefits: 401(k) plan with annual profit-sharing contributions after (1) year of service.
  • Life insurance: Employer-provided life and accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D) coverage.
  • Student loan assistance opportunities: PTHA is an approved site for several student loan repayment programs.
  • Supportive work environment: Join a team that values employee well-being, mutual respect, and a healthy work-life balance.

Be Part of Our Circle of Wellness!

Your knowledge can help patients feel more confident in their health, families build lasting wellness practices, and our community thrive.

Join PTHA and bring your heart for healing, your passion for nutrition, and your commitment to community care to work every day.
