Job Description
About ERHG
Emmer & Rye Hospitality Group is an award-winning, chef-driven, multi-concept restaurant group hailing from Austin, Texas. We’re rooted in local and seasonal sourcing that showcases the farms and producers behind every dish. We champion food of the highest caliber and hospitality to match—for every guest, every visit.
Position Summary
The Social Media Strategy & Community Manager owns execution across all Emmer & Rye Hospitality Group social accounts—writing, scheduling, community management, and full-lifecycle paid social—across Austin, San Antonio, Dallas, and Atlanta. This role executes against the content direction set by the Director of Visual Media and carries remote strategic ownership of new-market social presence as ERHG expands. Platform strategy (posting cadence, format mix, channel approach) sits provisionally with the CCO, tied to overall go-to-market strategy, and is a growth area for this role as it builds a track record.
Reports To: Chief Corporate Officer (CCO) (works as a close peer with the Director of Visual Media—neither role manages the other; partners closely with Giant Noise’s local teams as new markets come online)
Direct Reports: None
Location: Remote | Multi-Market | Travel Required
Content Execution
- Write all captions in each brand’s distinct voice, per brand voice guidelines (set by the CCO, sourced from each brand guide).
- Schedule and post content across all accounts (2–3x per week per account).
- Reshare content from each brand’s account daily.
- Update highlights with new posts, event information, and top-performing stories.
- Capture light, quick-turn phone content (Stories, day-to-day moments, staff spotlights) to supplement the Director of Visual Media’s hero content—not a substitute for it.
- Periodically spot-check the Director of Visual Media’s caption-adjacent content, as the reverse half of a peer consistency check.
Community Management
- Respond to comments and DMs promptly, following established escalation SOPs.
- Refer guests to the appropriate team, page, or form.
- Engage in relevant local groups; post updates and event information where applicable.
- Monitor for and report/block scammers and bots.
- Provide high-quality customer service across all social platforms.
Paid Media
- Own Meta ads full lifecycle: budget allocation, audience targeting, creative testing, ROAS tracking, and monthly performance reporting.
Event & Promotional Execution
- Create Facebook events when applicable.
- Create Instagram Stories and countdowns to promote events.
- Set up short links for promotional and event materials.
New-Market Strategy (Remote)
- Support social strategy for Dallas and Atlanta, built from data, the Director of Visual Media’s post-trip debriefs, local freelancer/GM feedback, and Giant Noise’s local PR teams.
- This is a remote-supporting role today and does not require ongoing physical presence in new markets.
Community Intelligence & Reporting
- Deliver regular (weekly or bi-weekly) reporting on DM/comment patterns, recurring guest questions, and content performance trends, feeding directly into the Director of Visual Media’s content planning.
- Compile monthly metrics (posts, reels, stories, top-performing content) for the Director of Operations, CCO, and Corporate Chef.
- Compile quarterly metrics for Partners and Directors, including engagement rate, follower count, and follower demographics.
Success in Year One
- Execution (captions, scheduling, community management) is running smoothly and consistently across all 15 brands.
- Meta ads are fully owned, with budget, targeting, and reporting operating independently.
- Community intelligence reporting is regular and actively informs the Director of Visual Media’s content planning.
- New-market social support for Dallas and/or Atlanta is running smoothly through the remote-support model.
- A defined review point has been reached to evaluate readiness to take on greater platform-strategy ownership (cadence, format mix, channel approach).
Travel Expectations
- Travel twice per year, anchored to the first restaurant opening in each new market (Dallas, then Atlanta).
- Travel across Austin, San Antonio, Dallas, and Atlanta as needed for launch support.
Qualifications
- 3–6 years of experience in social media management, community management, or digital marketing
- Demonstrated Meta ads/paid social experience with real budget accountability
- Strong writing ability, with demonstrated skill adapting tone and voice across multiple distinct brands
- Strong remote-operator instincts—able to execute and report effectively from secondhand input (debriefs, data, feedback) rather than firsthand market presence
- Judgment to know when to escalate a guest interaction versus resolve it independently
- Collaborative peer-working style—this role does not manage staff but works in close, ongoing coordination with the Director of Visual Media
- Basic phone photo/video capture skills a plus
