This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Data Engineer GCP/DBT in Brazil.
This role is focused on designing and delivering scalable, high-performance data solutions on Google Cloud Platform within a fast-paced and results-driven environment. You will work on complex data engineering challenges involving large-scale pipelines, modern data warehouse architectures, and cloud-native processing frameworks. Acting as a key technical contributor, you will help define data models, optimize data flows, and ensure the reliability, security, and cost efficiency of end-to-end data platforms. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions. This position also involves strong ownership of architecture decisions, data governance, and continuous improvement of data systems. It is an opportunity to work on impactful projects that directly support data-driven decision-making across the organization.
- Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and architectures on GCP using services such as BigQuery, Cloud Storage, and Dataproc
- Develop ELT/ETL workflows using tools like dbt, Dataflow, or Spark (PySpark) to process and transform large datasets
- Define and optimize data models, including partitioning and clustering strategies in BigQuery for performance and cost efficiency
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) to provision and manage cloud resources securely and efficiently
- Ensure data quality, governance, and security through IAM policies and best practices for cloud environments
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data pipelines, jobs, and queries to ensure high performance and reliability
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define architecture standards, documentation, and best practices for data engineering
- Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including BigQuery, Cloud Storage, and Dataproc
- Proven experience with dbt and data transformation workflows
- Advanced knowledge of SQL and solid experience with Python and PySpark for data engineering tasks
- Experience designing and optimizing distributed data processing pipelines and data lake/lakehouse architectures
- Knowledge of orchestration tools such as Dataflow, Composer, or similar
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and cloud security concepts (IAM, VPC, networking)
- Familiarity with Git/GitFlow and agile development methodologies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on performance, scalability, and cost optimization
