WHO is Sound Generations?
We are a comprehensive non-profit organization that serves older adults and people with disabilities in King County. Our mission is to partner with older adults to provide accessible and inclusive services so they can age their way.
We are currently seeking an Apartment Manager to join our Facilities team in Seattle, Washington.
What will YOU do?
The Apartment Manager oversees the administrative operations of a 25-unit low-income apartment building. The manager is responsible for filling apartment vacancies in a timely manner, handles tenant management, rent collection, rental eligibility paperwork, compliance with Tax Credit Housing regulations and maintaining accurate financial and compliance records.
Pay Rate: $30.35 per hour.
Work Schedule: It’s a temporary position, 20 hours/week.

Responsibilities:
- Tenant Relations: Address tenant complaints promptly and professionally, maintain positive relationships, and promote a welcoming community. Address and resolve tenant misconduct and noncompliance with the lease agreement. Resolution may include gathering documentation, verbal warnings, written notices, and initiating eviction.
- Leasing and Occupancy: Manage apartment vacancies, show units, screen applicants, and process lease paperwork to maintain full occupancy.
- Rent Collection: Collect and record rent payments, issue receipts, and follow up on late payments in accordance with established policies.
- Property Maintenance: Communicate maintenance needs and required repairs to the Facilities Manager, ensuring upkeep and safety of the property.
- Compliance: Maintain compliance with HUD regulations and local city requirements, ensure proper documentation, and support audits as needed.
- Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate records of tenant information, rent payments, and expenses.
- Gather, collate, and analyze data. Create and distribute reports.
Requirements:
You must have:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two years’ experience in property management, leasing or a related field.
- Proficiency in basic accounting.
