Key Responsibilities:
- Select suppliers and obtain pricing, availability, and delivery information; negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions.
- Ensure supplier compliance with contract flow-down requirements, including FAR, DFARS, and customer-specific clauses.
- Apply quality management standards in supplier selection and performance evaluation.
- Create and issue purchase orders based on the master production schedule; expedite orders and follow up to ensure on-time delivery.
- Utilize ERP systems and Microsoft Excel (including Pivot Tables and Power BI) to analyze purchasing trends and support forecasting.
- Read and interpret basic engineering drawings and specifications to ensure accurate purchasing.
- Conduct supplier audits and generate balanced scorecard reports as directed by the Purchasing Manager.
- Recommend new suppliers based on company needs and participate in onboarding assessments.
- Track and report departmental KPIs such as on-time delivery, order accuracy, and compliance metrics.
- Perform other procurement-related duties as assigned.

- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 7–10 years of relevant experience in government contracting, manufacturing, or engineering environments
- Strong knowledge of FAR/DFARS with demonstrated application in regulated or defense/aerospace settings
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Project; experience with ERP and planning software required
- Skilled in project scheduling, economic order quantity planning, and earned value management (EVM)
- Excellent time management, attention to detail, and critical thinking abilities
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and in cross-functional teams
- Experience in defense/aerospace manufacturing or government contract environments preferred
- Able to perform effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities
