Job Title: Facilities Technician

Location: 2251 Silver Creek Rd, Fort Worth, TX 76108

FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt

Position Type: Full time

Typical Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:00am-5:00pm and Saturday 7:00am-1:00pm as needed

Pay Range: $18.00-$25.00


About the role:

The Facilities Technician is essential to maintaining the functionality, safety, and appearance of Silver Creek Materials’ operations. By supporting infrastructure, managing site conditions, and assisting with projects, this role helps ensure smooth day-to-day operations and long-term facility reliability.

Traffic, Roads, and Ramps
  • Monitor, maintain, and improve road conditions across the property to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • Assist with implementing traffic pattern changes and managing overall traffic flow.
  • Respond to traffic congestion and resolve backups in a timely manner.
  • Maintain stormwater runoff systems, including the construction, inspection, and upkeep of drainage ditches and channels.
  • Support safe and efficient movement of vehicles throughout the facility.
  • Install, inspect, and maintain traffic signage to ensure clear direction and compliance with safety standards.
  • Maintain parking areas to ensure accessibility, safety, and proper organization.
  • Perform dust control measures on both company and public roadways.
  • Remove debris, including rebar and large rocks, from haul roads to prevent damage to tires and equipment.
  • Assist disabled or stranded vehicles on company property.
  • Ensure all gates, locks, and fencing systems are secure, functional, and properly maintained.
  • Inspect and maintain cattle guards to ensure operational integrity.
  • Manage mud-control gates and coordinate traffic during inclement weather conditions.
  • Operate street sweeping equipment (LayMor sweeper) during rain events to maintain roadway safety on Silver Creek Road.
Facility Appearance and Grounds Maintenance
  • Maintain property grounds through mowing, trimming, and vegetation control using equipment such as zero-turn mowers, tractors, and bush hogs.
  • Remove hazardous trees, limbs, and overgrowth to promote safety and site visibility.
  • Support labor crews with facility improvement and special projects as needed.
  • Inspect and maintain exterior lighting systems to ensure visibility and safety across the site.
  • Assist with litter removal throughout the property, excluding designated restricted areas.
  • Ensure product storage areas and bins remain clean and free of contamination.
  • Empty and maintain waste receptacles across the facility.
  • Perform basic cleaning and upkeep of office and administrative areas.
Freshwater Load-Out Area
  • Maintain all aspects of the freshwater load-out operations, including:
  • Grounds maintenance and mowing in surrounding areas
  • Inspection and upkeep of hoses, cam locks, and fittings
  • Maintenance of floating billets and strainers
  • Inspection and maintenance of truck safety barriers
Back Property and Lake Maintenance
  • Conduct routine inspections and patrols of back property to ensure gates are secured and fencing is intact.
  • Maintain vegetation and grounds surrounding the lake area.
  • Operate and maintain water pumping systems supporting lake operations.
  • Ensure lake areas are clean, organized, and visually presentable.
  • Perform maintenance on docks, boats, and associated equipment.
  • Assist with preparation and cleanup for special events, including seasonal activities such as dove hunts.
Building and General Maintenance
  • Perform general building maintenance tasks, including plumbing repairs, minor construction, and preventative maintenance.
  • Conduct pest control activities to protect facility integrity.
  • Maintain well and septic systems to ensure proper operation and compliance.
  • Replace HVAC filters and clean condenser coils to support system efficiency.
  • Perform routine lighting maintenance, including bulb replacement.
  • Execute winterization procedures to protect equipment and infrastructure.
  • Support firewood processing and handling as needed.
  • Assist with livestock care and pasture rotation activities on back property.
  • Support compost operations, including water management, pumping, drainage systems, and bulk liquid handling.
  • Safely operate heavy equipment and machinery as required to support maintenance activities

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Facilities Technician, Farm/ranch hand or Handy man.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Must pass a background check and comply with the company’s Drug-Free Workplace Policy.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to read and understand instructions, operating manuals, safety manuals, correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write basic correspondence.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions for extended periods.
  • Dependable, coachable, and self-motivated.
  • Ability to perform all assigned duties and responsibilities.
  • Experience with outdoor property management.
  • Experience with construction projects.
  • Experience with road maintenance.
  • Ability to operate multiple types of heavy equipment preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills are a plus.
