Geologist/Environmental Scientist in Hauppauge, New York at Sovereign Consulting

Sovereign Consulting Inc., a rapidly growing environmental consulting and remediation firm headquartered in Robbinsville, NJ, is seeking a Geologist / Environmental Scientist (1-3 years of experience) for its Hauppauge, NY location. This position will require travel within New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.

Responsibilities include:

• Groundwater monitoring and well sampling using various sampling techniques
• Oversight of soil borings, monitoring well installations, and underground storage tank removal
• Soil vapor intrusion investigations and indoor /outdoor air sampling
• Preparation of analytical data tables and graphs
• Assist with report preparation

Requirements:

• 1-3 years of environmental consulting related experience is required
• A Bachelors or Masters degree in Geology or Environmental Science required
• OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER Certification required, and current 8-hour refresher preferred
• Demonstrated technical writing skills
• Must have excellent communication, analytical, and field sampling skills
• Experience with field meters (oil/water interface probe, PID, water quality meters)
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Willing to travel primarily within New York State

Salary will be commensurate with experience.
