POSITION SUMMARY

The Millwright Operations Coordinator supports the successful execution of industrial construction and maintenance projects by managing tooling, equipment, materials, and logistical needs for the Millwright Group. This position serves as a critical link between the field and headquarters by ensuring crews have the tools, equipment, and materials necessary to perform work safely and efficiently.

This role is based out of the Davidson, NC headquarters and requires regular interaction with field personnel, warehouse operations, and project leadership. The position may also provide limited field support on active projects when operational needs require.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Tooling and Equipment Management

  1. Pull tools and equipment for upcoming projects based on project requirements.
  2. Maintain and update tool inventories and tracking spreadsheets.
  3. Receive, inspect, and return tools from active job sites.
  4. Check equipment back into inventory and ensure proper storage.
  5. Tag, identify, and document tooling as required.
  6. Coordinate tool repairs, maintenance, and inspections.
  7. Conduct routine inspections to ensure tooling remains in safe working condition.

Material and Project Support

  1. Deliver materials, equipment, and tooling to active job sites as needed.
  2. Serve as a parts and material runner to support field operations.
  3. Assist project teams with locating, tracking, and procuring required materials.
  4. Coordinate transportation and movement of tools and equipment between projects.

Fleet and Logistics Support

  1. Operate company vehicles in accordance with company policies.
  2. Maintain eligibility on the company-approved driver list.
  3. Utilize company fleet vehicles for deliveries and project support activities.
  4. Assist with loading, unloading, and transporting equipment safely.
  5. Field Support
  6. Provide support on project sites as directed by management.
  7. Assist millwright crews with installation, maintenance, rigging, equipment setting, and other field activities when operational needs require.
  8. Perform duties at an apprentice or Millwright Technician level under the direction of field supervision.

Safety and Compliance

  1. Follow all Wayne Brothers safety policies and procedures.
  2. Maintain accurate records related to tooling inspections and inventory.
  3. Ensure equipment and tools meet safety and compliance requirements before deployment to project sites.

Education and/or Experience

  1. 4-year Bachelor’s Degree – preferred
  2. Minimum 5 years related experience - Required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  1. Prior industrial construction, millwright, maintenance, warehouse, or logistics experience.
  2. Experience operating forklifts and material handling equipment.
  3. Basic understanding of industrial construction tools and equipment.
  4. Previous experience in inventory control or tool management.

Working Conditions

  1. Based primarily at Wayne Brothers headquarters in Davidson, NC.
  2. Frequent travel to local and regional job sites as needed.
  3. Combination of office, warehouse, fabrication shop, and construction site environments.
  4. Must be willing to work outdoors and in industrial settings when supporting field operations.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  1. Valid Driver’s License – Required
  2. OSHA 10-Hour Certification – Required; training provided by Wayne Brothers
  3. Ability to safely operate or become certified to operate a forklift.
  4. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  5. Basic computer skills including Microsoft Excel.
  6. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull tools, equipment, and materials.
  7. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Physical Demands

  1. Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  2. Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, and work in industrial environments for extended periods.
  3. Ability to safely operate vehicles, forklifts, and material handling equipment.
