Job Description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Solutions Architect / Security Lead based in the United States.
This role sits at the intersection of enterprise architecture, security leadership, and cloud platform engineering, supporting the design of a complex, multi-workflow financial services platform. You will define and govern end-to-end technical architecture across multiple delivery teams, ensuring consistency in APIs, data schemas, and integration patterns. A core part of your impact will be strengthening security-by-design principles across the platform, including identity, access control, and audit readiness. You will also guide compliance efforts in regulated environments such as GDPR and BaFin, while coordinating penetration testing and security validation. Working closely with engineering, compliance, and enterprise stakeholders, you will help align architecture decisions with business and regulatory requirements. This is a highly collaborative, hands-on leadership role requiring both strategic oversight and deep technical execution in cloud-native Azure environments. The environment is fast-moving, complex, and highly cross-functional, with strong emphasis on ownership and technical authority.
This role is responsible for defining, governing, and enforcing enterprise-grade architecture standards across a large-scale financial platform. You will ensure architectural consistency across teams while embedding strong security and compliance practices into every layer of the system.
- Define and maintain overall solution architecture across multiple delivery pods, ensuring alignment of APIs, data models, and integration contracts
- Lead security architecture design, including least-privilege access, audit logging, identity management, and secure-by-design frameworks
- Oversee Azure-native cloud architecture including AKS, App Service, Key Vault, Entra ID, networking, and IAM configurations
- Coordinate penetration testing activities and support audit readiness for regulated environments (including GDPR and BaFin requirements)
- Establish governance for cross-system integration, SAP/ERP data flows, and enterprise-grade interoperability standards
- Collaborate with engineering, compliance, and enterprise architecture teams to resolve cross-domain dependencies and technical risks
- Participate in design reviews and provide architectural leadership across concurrent development streams
This role requires deep expertise in enterprise architecture within regulated, cloud-native environments, with a strong focus on security and scalable system design. The ideal candidate is both a strategic thinker and a hands-on technical leader comfortable influencing across large organizations.
- Extensive experience in solutions or enterprise architecture, ideally on Azure-native platforms
- Strong background in security architecture, compliance hardening, and regulated financial services environments
- Deep understanding of identity and access management, least-privilege design, and audit trail implementation
- Experience defining and enforcing API contracts, data schemas, and cross-team architecture governance
- Proven track record working with GDPR, BaFin, or similar regulatory frameworks and audit processes
- Familiarity with SAP integration architecture and large-scale ERP data exchange patterns
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence enterprise, compliance, and engineering leaders
- Hands-on experience or strong interest in leveraging AI tools to improve engineering and architecture workflows
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts for diverse audiences
- Competitive compensation package aligned with experience and expertise
- Remote work flexibility with U.S.-based collaboration expectations
- Opportunity to work on large-scale, regulated enterprise systems with high technical impact
- Exposure to advanced Azure cloud environments and modern architecture practices
- Career growth in a high-impact, innovation-driven engineering organization
- Collaborative, cross-functional environment focused on engineering excellence
- Opportunity to influence architecture standards and security practices at enterprise scale
