Senior Instrumentation and Analytical Specialist

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Instrumentation and Analytical Specialist based in the United States.

This role is a high-level field-based technical and commercial expert position within laboratory diagnostics and automation systems. You will serve as a subject matter expert across instrumentation, informatics, and laboratory automation, helping healthcare organizations optimize system performance and improve operational efficiency. The position combines deep technical expertise with customer-facing strategic influence, supporting solution design, installation, optimization, and lifecycle management. You will work closely with major healthcare systems and internal commercial teams to deliver training, technical workshops, and system improvements that enhance diagnostic workflows. The environment is dynamic and highly collaborative, involving cross-functional engagement across sales, service, marketing, and product development. This role is ideal for a technically advanced professional who can bridge complex scientific systems with business impact and customer success.

Accountabilities:
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in laboratory automation, diagnostics instrumentation, and informatics systems, providing advanced technical guidance across customer engagements.
  • Lead system installations, configurations, and optimization initiatives to enhance performance of diagnostic and laboratory automation solutions.
  • Conduct in-depth workflow and system assessments to identify improvement opportunities in instrumentation, middleware, and informatics platforms.
  • Design and deliver technical workshops, training programs, and demonstrations for customers and internal Technical Solution Design teams.
  • Act as a key technical advisor across the full solution lifecycle, including sales support, implementation, optimization, and renewal stages.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with key healthcare accounts to support retention, expansion, and customer satisfaction.
  • Perform advanced data analysis using instrumentation and automation data tools to support performance optimization and decision-making.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales, marketing, and global product teams to align technical solutions with business needs.
  • Lead competitive analysis and contribute to differentiating technical positioning in the marketplace.
  • Ensure compliance with quality systems, standards, and regulatory requirements across all technical activities.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related scientific, technical, or engineering field.
  • 7+ years of experience in laboratory diagnostics, automation systems, or related technical solution environments.
  • Strong expertise in installing, configuring, and optimizing automated diagnostic systems and laboratory automation platforms.
  • Deep knowledge of clinical laboratory workflows, instrumentation systems, and informatics or middleware solutions.
  • Proven experience in technical sales support, solution design, or customer-facing technical advisory roles.
  • Strong ability to perform data analysis and leverage automation or instrumentation data mining tools.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business value.
  • Demonstrated leadership in cross-functional initiatives and ability to influence stakeholders in a matrixed environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to operate in fast-paced, customer-driven environments.
  • Willingness to travel up to 75% across customer sites in the United States.
