Position Overview

The Quality Control Supervisor leads day-to-day site Quality across production-floor and laboratory QC. The role manages technician coverage and performance, startup/process audits, quality incidents, containment, investigations, laboratory workflow, and reliable quality data, escalating significant risk to the Director of Quality.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead daily QC staffing, assignments, cross-coverage, shift handoffs, coaching, and technician accountability.
• Audit production startups and in-process controls for correct components/materials, labels/coding, first-off product, required checks, documentation, and equipment status.
• Ensure quality incidents are reported in real time, suspect product is contained, the last-known-good point is established, and significant issues are escalated.
• Coordinate stop-and-contain response for functional failures including leaks, spray/discharge problems, inadequate evacuation, component-fit issues, and crimp/seal or pressure-related failures.
• Lead or coordinate investigations for nonconformance, laboratory/batch failures, complaints, returned product, and recurring defects; require objective root cause, corrective action, ownership, and follow-up.
• Oversee laboratory workflow, batch/raw-material testing, OOS/OOT escalation, retain/sample control, and calibration/verification readiness.
• Ensure technician qualification and complete Quality records; trend recurring failures, holds, line stops, audit findings, and investigation aging to identify improvement priorities and support audits/corrective actions.
• All other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience

• 5+ years of progressive manufacturing Quality experience; 2+ years of supervisory, shift-leadership, or equivalent people-accountability experience.
• Associate degree in chemistry, quality, engineering technology, manufacturing, or a related technical field, or substantial directly relevant experience.
• Working knowledge of nonconformance/CAPA, root-cause analysis, containment, process audits, sampling, calibration control, data integrity, and statistical quality concepts.
• Ability to evaluate production-floor and laboratory evidence and make clear, risk-based recommendations under production pressure.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, and experience working with ERP systems.
Preferred Qualifications
• 7+ years of progressive manufacturing Quality experience.
• Bachelor's degree in chemistry, engineering, quality, manufacturing, or a related discipline.
• Experience in aerosol filling, liquid chemical manufacturing, packaging, consumer products, or high-mix contract manufacturing.
• ASQ certification, Six Sigma Green Belt, formal root-cause/CAPA training, or equivalent Quality credential.
Physical Requirement
__________________________________________________________________________________
Ability to work on the manufacturing floor and in laboratory/non-climate-controlled areas, wear required PPE, lift/handle up to approximately 50 lb, and support Quality issues across shifts as needed.
