About the Role:
The CNC Machine Operator plays a critical role in the manufacturing process by setting up, operating, and maintaining computer numerical control (CNC) machines to produce precision parts and components. This position requires a strong attention to detail to ensure that all products meet exact specifications and quality standards. The operator will interpret technical drawings and blueprints to program machines accurately and make necessary adjustments during production runs. Collaboration with engineering and quality assurance teams is essential to troubleshoot issues and optimize machine performance. Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience operating CNC machines in a manufacturing environment.
- Basic understanding of CNC programming and machine setup.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Familiarity with measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in CNC operation or machining technology.
- Experience with CAD/CAM software for programming CNC machines.
- Knowledge of multiple CNC machine types including lathes and mills.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Previous experience working in a lean manufacturing or continuous improvement environment.
Responsibilities:
- Set up CNC machines by loading materials, installing tools, and inputting programming instructions based on technical drawings.
- Operate CNC machinery to manufacture parts with precision, monitoring the process to detect and correct any deviations.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of machines to ensure optimal functionality and prevent downtime.
- Inspect finished products using measuring instruments to verify conformance to specifications and quality standards.
- Collaborate with engineers and quality control personnel to resolve production issues and implement process improvements.
- Maintain accurate production records and report any machine malfunctions or safety concerns promptly.
