Job Description: Retail Agronomic Services Intern
Summary/Objective
The Retail Agronomic Services Summer Intern will support the BRANDT Agronomic Services, LLC team in various functions including walking fields, summer tasks, and assisting with plant operations. This internship will involve a different task every day that gives an overview of all Agronomic Services does for its employees and customers. The internship will include new experiences in the area of agriculture.
The Retail Agronomic Services Summer Intern will report to the local Plant Manager of BRANDT Agronomic Services and work closely with the other employees at that location. This position may take direction and guidance from other team members throughout the internship. The internship may have the opportunity to shadow jobs in other areas including Discovery & Innovation, Dealer Support and Specialty Formulations.
Primary locations possible to be placed will include Virginia, Ashland, Pleasant Plains, New Berlin, Franklin, Waverly, Auburn, Raymond, Oakford, Greenview, Williamsville, Lincoln, Niantic, Mt. Auburn, Gridley, Fairbury, Lexington, Towanda, Cooksville, and Cropsey.
Essential Functions
- Help place signs around the BRANDT trade area in plots or road frontage.
- Product deliveries to customers and other Brandt locations
- Assist with seed treatment at BRANDT facilities if needed
- Perform duties as needed at location mix plant/warehouse
- Document field issues in crop monitoring tools to share with customers.
- Assist with seed returns if needed.
- Report on field observations to BRANDT marketing for social media content.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Environment
This position will primarily be field work but some office professional setting may be necessary. With the diversity of work in Agronomic Services, this individual will need the ability to dress accordingly.
Classification/Expected Hours of Employment
This position is an internship and is non-exempt, it will follow federal and all applicable state or local laws. Days and hours of work are generally 7:00am to 4:00pm, with some extended hours needed as seasonal and job duties demands may vary.
Travel
This position may require travel between Retail locations within Illinois.
Required Education and Experience
- Working towards 4 year degree in agronomy or agriculture related field.
- Intermediate computer and software skills required.
- Valid driver’s license and clean drivers record. CDL a plus but not required.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Must be able to work outdoors.
