This remote role offers the opportunity to lead complex hardware development programs for next-generation wearable technology, including smart glasses. You will coordinate engineering efforts across design, validation, component delivery, suppliers, and product development milestones. Working at the intersection of engineering, supply chain, and program management, you will help turn technical requirements into structured execution plans. The role requires strong ownership of schedules, risks, dependencies, documentation, and cross-functional communication. You will work closely with internal teams and external partners to keep development programs aligned and progressing toward production. This is a 12-month engagement with potential for extension, with West Coast working hours preferred.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead coordination of engineering design deliverables, including technical specifications, design of experiments (DOE), and validation plans.
  • Manage hardware component delivery timelines for development builds and drive qualification activities toward mass production.
  • Develop and maintain detailed program schedules aligned with system requirements, technical risks, dependencies, and business priorities.
  • Establish and maintain clear program structures, workflows, milestones, and operating rhythms across engineering and leadership teams.
  • Track program progress and communicate status, risks, mitigation plans, decisions, and key dependencies to relevant stakeholders.
  • Monitor vendor tooling timelines, design sprint progress, and other critical activities affecting program execution.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering, supply chain, product, and external partner teams to ensure seamless execution of program milestones.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date program documentation to support stakeholder visibility, alignment, and decision-making.
  • Participate in internal practice community meetings and contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the internal practice team on industry thought leadership, case studies, blogs, media materials, and learning content.
  • Contribute to digital transformation practice development initiatives and internal networking activities.
  • Partner with leadership on career development and professional growth opportunities.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in hardware engineering or technical program management within the consumer electronics industry.
  • Proven experience managing complex hardware development programs and consistently driving delivery against timelines.
  • Strong experience coordinating cross-functional teams across engineering, supply chain, vendors, and external partners.
  • Solid understanding of the product development lifecycle, hardware design, fabrication, qualification, and production processes.
  • Strong ability to create and maintain detailed program plans, schedules, dependencies, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for diverse technical and business stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience working with global suppliers and managing external vendors is preferred.
  • Experience with wearable technology or similar hardware product categories is a plus.
  • Prior transition from an engineering role into technical program management is advantageous.
  • Experience working with major technology organizations such as Meta, Amazon, Apple, or Microsoft is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills, ownership, collaboration, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work remotely during standard business hours, with West Coast hours preferred.
  • Must be available as a direct W2 candidate; visa sponsorship is not available.

Benefits:

  • 12-month contract with potential for extension.
  • Remote work in the United States, with West Coast hours preferred.
  • Comprehensive medical benefits.
  • 401(k) retirement plan.
  • Paid holidays.
  • Additional employee benefits and support programs.
  • Opportunity to contribute to next-generation wearable hardware development.
  • Exposure to complex engineering programs, global suppliers, and cross-functional technology teams.
  • Career learning, networking, and professional development opportunities.
  • Dynamic work environment focused on collaboration, empowerment, and recognition.
