Host - Wild Finch - The Springs Resort & Spa in Pagosa springs, Colorado at Wellspring Hospitality LLC

The Host is the first and last point of contact for every Wild Finch guest, setting the tone for a warm, efficient dining experience. While the primary responsibility of this role is hosting — greeting, seating, and managing the flow of the dining room — the position is intentionally cross-functional. The Host also supports to-go orders, bussing, table-setting, sidework, phone calls, and general front-of-house (FOH) operations, working closely with servers and management to keep service running smoothly.

Schedule

• Part-time position with 3 regularly scheduled shifts per week.

• Additional shifts may be required to cover for the primary 4-day-a-week Host, including planned absences (e.g., September 8–17).

• Schedule includes weekends, holidays, and peak-season hours as business needs require.

Key Reasonabilities

• Greet guests warmly upon arrival and manage the seating flow to balance server sections and guest wait times.

• Accurately maintain the reservation book and waitlist; communicate accurate wait times to guests.

• Answer the restaurant phone, take reservations, and respond to general guest inquiries.

• Take and process to-go orders, including coordinating timing with the kitchen and handling payment.

• Bus and reset tables promptly to keep the dining room turning efficiently.

• Perform table-setting and general sidework (rolling silverware, stocking service stations, maintaining menus, etc.).

• Support servers with general FOH tasks as needed to assist overall service flow.

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand, entryway, and waiting area.

• Communicate guest needs, special occasions, or concerns to the manager or serving staff promptly.

• Follow all resort and restaurant standards for guest service, safety, and sanitation.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a host, server assistant, or similar guest-facing restaurant role preferred.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; friendly, professional demeanor.

• Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, and to lift/carry up to 25 lbs.

• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Compensation & Tips

• Hourly base pay plus applicable tips on to-go orders when a guest chooses to tip.

• Eligible to receive tip-outs from servers for assistance with side-work and service duties.
