Position Summary:
The Department of Accounting in the Neil Griffin College of Business at Arkansas State University (A-State) invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level beginning Fall 2027.
Teaching and research interests in all areas of accounting will be considered. The Department seeks candidates who can contribute to the continued growth and innovation of its accounting programs: the Bachelor of Science in Accounting with Data Analytics and Applied AI and the Master of Accounting with Data Analytics and Applied AI. Candidates with expertise in areas such as accounting analytics, artificial intelligence applications in accounting, advanced accounting, managerial accounting, or other emerging areas of accounting education are particularly encouraged to apply.
The successful candidate will teach accounting courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels and contribute to the continued development of the Departments accounting curriculum. The Department is interested in candidates who can support initiatives related to the development of a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) pathway within the Master of Accounting with Data Analytics and Applied AI program and the continued integration of emerging technologies into accounting education. Candidates with experience or interest in developing and teaching courses involving artificial intelligence applications in accounting, data analytics, and technology-enabled accounting practices are highly valued.
Primary responsibilities include teaching accounting courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, conducting scholarly research resulting in quality peer-reviewed publications, and providing service to the department, college, university, and accounting profession.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Teach accounting courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
- Develop and maintain curriculum consistent with departmental and college initiatives.
- Conduct scholarly research resulting in quality peer-reviewed publications.
- Provide service to the department, college, university, and accounting profession.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Arkansas State University is a public, multi-campus higher education system with an enrollment exceeding 22,000 students. Recently reclassified as an R2 (Doctoral Universities: High Research Activity) institution by Carnegie, A-State's Jonesboro campus boasts a diverse student body exceeding 13,000. Jonesboro, a regional metropolitan city with a population of over 68,500, is located 70 miles northwest of Memphis, Tenn.

Preferred Qualifications:
- An active CPA, CMA, or other relevant professional certification.
- Professional accounting experience.
- Experience teaching accounting courses at the undergraduate or graduate level.
- Experience or interest in accounting analytics, artificial intelligence applications in accounting, advanced accounting, managerial accounting, or other emerging areas of accounting education.
- Demonstrated ability or interest in integrating data analytics, artificial intelligence, or other emerging technologies into accounting education.
Minimum Qualifications:
An earned Ph.D. or DBA with a concentration in Accounting from an AACSB-accredited institution. ABD candidates will be considered.
