Job Description
The Manufacturing Engineer's primary responsibility is to support all manufacturing/assembly activities. The position is accountable for developing new and improving current processes that provide efficient methods for assembling products while utilizing poka-yoke systems. The Manufacturing Engineer will also lead identifying and implementing process cost improvements with existing processes and packaging methods. The position requires a strong knowledge of error proofing devices, labor optimization, specifying equipment and project management tools.

Essential Job Functions

· Develop and lead the execution of lean manufacturing strategies regarding facilities, equipment processes, packaging and material handling capabilities.
· Plan, direct and coordinate new projects, technical estimating, tool and fixture design and manufacturing process engineering.
· Partner with Maintenance to troubleshoot issues and provide preventative maintenance support.
· Develop and maintain CAD plant layouts that provide efficient space usage and follow lean principles.
· Support engineering manager with designing new processes that meet cost, quality and production requirements.
· Support programing assembly cells utilizing Nexonar, Z-Laser, Assembly Scout and Pivotware systems.
· Perform BOM and routing maintenance with the ERP system.
· Maintain action registers for prioritizing projects and tasks.
· Identify and implement effective cost savings.
· Submit packaging requirements to customers for approval.
· Design cost effective packaging concepts that support customer requirements.
· Partner and collaborate with customers, key managers and vendors to support the flow of information and product development.
· Support engineering manager with process quoting that includes labor and tooling usage.
· Partner with tool vendors and machine shops for completing projects.
· Support manufacturing engineering APQP activities.

Position Profile:
· Must be a self-starter.
· Strong ability for interpreting part prints, engineering specifications, part tolerancing and tolerancing stack up.

Requirements:Education and Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mechanical or industrial is preferred.
· 1-5 years of manufacturing experience in operating within the automotive, aerospace or similar industry.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements
