Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on HR Manager to oversee the company's day-to-day human resources functions within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position will work closely with employees and management across both office and production operations, providing HR support while ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and local requirements.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a manufacturing/production environment, interacting with employees at all levels, addressing employee relations matters, supporting recruitment and retention efforts, and maintaining a strong focus on workplace safety and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle recruiting and hiring for office and manufacturing/production positions
- Conduct interviews, facilitate hiring decisions, and coordinate new-hire onboarding
- Manage employee onboarding and offboarding processes
- Handle employee relations, workplace concerns, and conflict resolution
- Work directly with production and management teams to address HR-related needs
- Administer employee benefits and coordinate annual open enrollment
- Manage FMLA administration and related documentation
- Manage workers' compensation claims and related processes
- Manage unemployment claims and responses
- Maintain OSHA compliance and workplace safety programs
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
- Administer E-Verify and employment eligibility requirements
- Maintain accurate and confidential personnel files and HR documentation
- Administer company policies and employee handbook procedures
- Support performance management, disciplinary actions, and corrective action processes
- Assist management with employment-law and regulatory compliance matters
- Develop and maintain HR reports, metrics, and records
- Serve as a resource to managers, supervisors, production personnel, and employees regarding HR-related matters
- Administer and maintain HR systems and software
- Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive employee information
Qualifications
- Previous experience in an HR Manager, Human Resources Generalist, or similar HR leadership role
- Experience supporting a manufacturing, warehouse, production, or other industrial workforce preferred
- Strong knowledge of employee relations and HR practices
- Working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment regulations
- Experience with OSHA compliance and workplace safety requirements
- Experience with benefits administration, FMLA, workers' compensation, and unemployment claims
- Experience with recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Ability to work independently while partnering effectively with management and employees
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HR-related software
- E-Verify experience preferred
