This is a high-impact opportunity for an experienced fraud and risk professional to help protect financial institutions and their customers in a fast-paced payments environment. You’ll use advanced analytics, fraud prevention technologies, AI, and transaction data to identify emerging threats and reduce financial losses. The role combines hands-on fraud monitoring with strategic analysis, client advisory, and complex problem-solving. You’ll work closely with internal teams, financial institutions, senior stakeholders, and technology partners to strengthen fraud defenses. Your insights will directly influence fraud strategies, risk mitigation, workflow performance, and customer experience. This is a fully remote role offering autonomy and meaningful responsibility during overnight operations. The position follows a fixed Monday–Friday schedule from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM Eastern Time.

Accountabilities:
  • Develop, implement, and optimize fraud prevention strategies using transaction data, advanced analytics, machine learning, and fraud detection technologies.
  • Monitor assigned client portfolios, fraud trends, workflow performance, and risk exposure, identifying emerging patterns and recommending appropriate mitigation measures.
  • Analyze complex datasets and conduct root-cause analysis to strengthen fraud defenses while balancing fraud prevention with customer experience and false-positive management.
  • Support financial institutions and internal teams with fraud prevention inquiries, investigations, incidents, escalations, rule development, custom solutions, and ongoing portfolio monitoring.
  • Serve as a fraud and risk subject matter expert, providing recommendations and presenting analytical findings to colleagues, clients, senior leaders, boards, and examiners.
  • Manage and coordinate risk analytics projects, service-level agreements, turnaround times, deliverables, and quality standards.
  • Resolve complex and time-sensitive escalations while independently making sound risk decisions during overnight operations.
  • Create business intelligence reporting and data visualizations that translate complex analytical findings into clear, actionable insights for nontechnical audiences.
  • Identify, integrate, transform, cleanse, and evaluate data from multiple sources to support business questions, testing, exploratory analysis, and fraud strategy development.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to develop cross-functional risk solutions and advocate for client fraud prevention needs.
  • Monitor operational and information security risks, escalate identified concerns appropriately, and contribute to process improvements and product enhancements.
  • Maintain accurate process documentation and communications while ensuring time-sensitive work meets established service and quality standards.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
  • At least 7 years of experience in the financial services industry.
  • At least 7 years of professional experience in risk analytics, fraud mitigation, fraud services, or a closely related field.
  • Hands-on experience with Fraud Detection Work Center (FDWC) and/or FDR systems.
  • Strong expertise in fraud detection strategies, rules tuning, fraud modeling, and risk mitigation methodologies.
  • Experience with fraud orchestration and decisioning platforms such as DefenseEdge, Falcon, Advance Defense, or Fraud Navigator is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of payments processing systems is preferred.
  • Advanced SQL skills, with the ability to work with large and complex datasets and turn analytical findings into actionable recommendations.
  • Strong understanding of fraud metrics, forecasting techniques, and the trade-offs between true fraud detection and false positives.
  • Excellent analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to synthesize complex information and make sound risk decisions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical and analytical concepts clearly to financial institutions, colleagues, and senior management.
  • Experience with project management is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and respond effectively to sensitive and time-critical fraud events.
  • Availability to work the required fixed overnight schedule of Monday through Friday, 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM Eastern Time.
  • The role is currently not eligible for sponsorship.
Benefits:
  • Competitive salary of $67,700–$86,300, with actual compensation adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
