ABOUT ITEM
Item is the Decision Engine for Supply Chain. At the core of the platform is item's Ontology, a live, structured model of an entire supply chain, connecting procurement, planning, fulfillment, warehousing, transportation, and workforce into one real-time ground truth. Instead of systems like OMS, WMS, and TMS operating in isolation, item's Ontology gives every system, AI agent, and automation a shared source of truth, so decisions are correct, not just fast.
Built on top of the Ontology, item's platform includes Ontology Suite, AgentFactory, and ItemGPT, delivering an Integrated Resource Planning & Control (IRP) system that orchestrates enterprise workflows end-to-end across OMS, POS, WMS, YMS, TMS, LMS, RMS, PIM, and CRM systems. Item sits above, and never replaces, a client's ERP, CRM, and existing systems of record. As Item scales, we are building out a senior leadership team to drive revenue, growth, and market expansion.
THE OPPORTUNITY for HEAD OF REVENUE & GROWTH
We are scaling from a foundational product-market fit into our next growth phase, and we need a builder to stand up the revenue engine that will take us there.
This is a rare opportunity to own revenue and growth end-to-end at a company redefining how supply chain decisions get made. You will report directly to the President | CRSO & COO, sit at the executive table, and build five functions from the ground up: RevOps, Inbound & Outbound Sales, Channel Partnerships, Field Sales, and Marketing. This is not a role that inherits an existing machine. This is a role that builds one.
This is a true startup-mentality seat. Headcount will be added in phases, lean to start. Early on, you will be wearing several hats and getting in the trenches directly, while also operating with the strategic and visionary thinking required to build a scalable, category-defining revenue organization.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Head of Revenue & Growth is a senior leadership role responsible for owning and scaling all revenue-generating functions at Item. This role will build and lead RevOps, Inbound and Outbound Sales, Channel Partnerships, Field Sales, and Marketing, creating a unified, high-performing growth engine that drives pipeline, revenue, and market presence.
This role carries P&L responsibility for the revenue organization, owning the cost structure and resource allocation across RevOps, Sales, Channel Partnerships, Field Sales, and Marketing against defined revenue and pipeline outcomes.
This is a builder role, not a maintainer role. The ideal candidate has built multi-function revenue organizations from the ground up before, thrives in a lean, fast-paced, high-growth environment, and can move fluidly between strategic ownership and hands-on execution. Headcount and team build-out will be phased and lean to start, requiring a leader who is genuinely willing to be hands-on while still thinking several steps ahead.

• Pipeline generation target: TBD
• Team size to build/manage: TBD (phased, lean to start)

• Own the qualification-to-handoff process end-to-end, ensuring clean pipeline conversion into Field Sales
• Set and own pipeline generation targets: TBD meetings/opportunities per [period]
• Build the team in phases, hire the leaders when the time is right, and establish the operating rhythm that scales this function past founder-led sales
Channel Partnerships
• Build Item's partner ecosystem from scratch: Strategic Alliances, Referral Partners, Reseller Partners, OEM/Embedded Partners, Industry and Associations Partners, Independent Sales Agents, and Contractors/Agencies
• Own partner strategy, recruitment, onboarding, enablement, and co-sell motion
• Establish partner operations infrastructure: deal registration, attribution, performance reporting

WHO THRIVES IN THIS ROLE
• Revenue Growth Operators who have built revenue functions from zero, not just managed ones already in motion
• Senior Leadership who have done it, proven themselves, and are comfortable owning ambiguity and creating structure without waiting for someone else to define it
• Leaders who can move between boardroom strategy and hands-on execution in the same week
• People energized by category-defining technology and complex enterprise sales motions
• Builders who want equity of ownership over outcomes, not just a title
• Operators genuinely comfortable in a lean, startup environment, willing to wear multiple hats and be in the trenches while still leading with strategic and visionary thinking
QUALIFICATIONS
• 10+ years of progressive revenue leadership experience, with direct experience building (not just running) multi-function revenue organizations spanning Sales, Marketing, Partnerships, and/or RevOps
• Track record scaling a revenue organization from an early stage through significant growth, ideally in a lean, high-growth startup or scale-up environment
• Experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain, or enterprise SaaS/technology strongly preferred
• Deep fluency in revenue systems, CRM infrastructure, and data-driven decision making
• Demonstrated success building partner ecosystems and channel-led revenue programs from the ground up
• Executive-level communication skills, with experience presenting directly to founders, boards, or C-suite leadership
• Proven ability to operate independently in ambiguous, fast-moving environments while building durable structure and process
• Comfort operating with lean resources and phased headcount, without waiting for a fully built team to start producing results
• Experience owning a P&L or budget with direct accountability for cost efficiency against revenue outcomes, not just top-line generation
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

• TBD in revenue/pipeline generated within [X] TBD timeframe
• Predictable, scalable pipeline generation across inbound, outbound, and partner channels
• Clean, reliable revenue data and reporting infrastructure supporting executive decision-making
• A growing, activated partner ecosystem contributing meaningful pipeline
• Strong brand presence and market positioning supporting the sales motion
• A high-performing team built and led in a phased, lean manner, with clear process, accountability, and growth trajectory
