We're looking for a dependable, mechanically minded, and detail-oriented Box Maker Operator to join our team.

Position Summary

The Box Maker Operator is responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting the equipment used to produce and prepare packaging for daily fulfillment.

This is a hands-on production role responsible for operating our box-making, card-inserting, and label-applicator equipment while ensuring the Fulfillment Team has the materials it needs to keep production moving efficiently.

The Box Maker Operator will perform equipment changeovers, monitor production quality, troubleshoot equipment issues, minimize material waste, and work closely with Fulfillment leadership to anticipate daily box, kit, and label needs.

The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, organized, proactive, and comfortable working independently to solve problems in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate box maker, card inserter, label applicator, and supporting production equipment.
  • Set up and perform equipment changeovers between different box sizes, materials, and products.
  • Monitor equipment throughout production and identify potential mechanical or operational issues.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and escalate larger maintenance concerns when appropriate.
  • Perform routine cleaning and basic preventative maintenance on assigned equipment.
  • Produce boxes and packaged kits according to established quality standards and production requirements.
  • Monitor production output and work toward established efficiency and reliability targets.
  • Minimize cardboard, packaging, label, and other material waste.
  • Perform regular quality checks to ensure boxes and kits meet established standards.
  • Maintain accurate production, quality-control, and equipment logs.
  • Coordinate closely with Fulfillment leadership to anticipate daily box, kit, card, and label requirements.
  • Ensure necessary packaging materials are available to support the daily fulfillment schedule.
  • Assist with fulfillment and shipping of daily customer orders as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation and surrounding production areas.
  • Follow all company safety, sanitation, and equipment operating procedures.
  • Communicate production delays, equipment issues, material shortages, or quality concerns to the appropriate team members.
  • Support other production and fulfillment responsibilities as business needs require.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, production, fulfillment, service, or similar environment preferred.
  • Previous experience operating production or packaging equipment is a plus.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in learning how equipment operates.
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems and identify potential solutions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing consistent, quality work.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple production needs.
  • Dependable attendance and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate equipment or technical issues clearly.
  • Proactive approach to identifying and solving problems.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with Google Workspace.
  • Willingness to learn new processes and take on additional responsibilities as the company grows.
Physical Requirements

The physical requirements listed below represent those necessary to successfully perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Ability to regularly stand and move throughout the production facility for extended periods.
  • Ability to bend, kneel, squat, reach, push, and pull throughout the workday.
  • Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to safely operate or learn to operate production and warehouse equipment.
  • Ability to work in an active production and warehouse environment.
