Adult Psychiatrist – Outpatient/IOP Program
Location: West Philadelphia, PA
Schedule: Part-Time | Onsite with Some Telehealth
Program: Adult Outpatient / Intensive Outpatient Program (OP/IOP)
Position Overview
Avenia Behavioral Management is seeking an Adult Psychiatrist to provide psychiatric services for an established behavioral health program in West Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The program is currently rebuilding its psychiatric team and anticipates a strong flow of referrals for new patient evaluations.
The psychiatrist will provide initial psychiatric evaluations, clinical oversight, and supervision for two practitioners providing follow-up services. The role will also include serving as Medical Director for the program.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct approximately 6 new psychiatric evaluations per week
Complete each initial evaluation in approximately 1 hour
Provide clinical supervision to two practitioners
Approximately 2 hours of supervision per practitioner each month
Approximately 4 total hours of supervision per month
Serve as Medical Director for the program
Provide services primarily onsite, with some telehealth availability
Collaborate with the behavioral health team to support quality patient care
Participate in the ongoing development and rebuilding of the psychiatric services team
Schedule & Workload
The initial expected workload includes:
6 hours per week for new patient psychiatric evaluations
4 hours per month for practitioner supervision
Additional Medical Director responsibilities as needed
Caseload and census may vary, with the program expecting an increased volume of referrals for initial psychiatric evaluations.
Qualifications
MD or DO with specialization in Psychiatry
Active Pennsylvania medical license
Current DEA registration
Current NPI
Enrolled with Medicaid and Medicare
Adult psychiatry experience preferred
Experience working in outpatient, IOP, or community behavioral health settings preferred
Strong communication and clinical leadership skills
