We work alongside the world’s top artists in music, film, and television, as well as athletes, executives, entrepreneurs, and other high achievers, offering a sophisticated range of concierge-style services to meet their lifestyle management needs.

Your Role:
Our Tax team is seeking a highly experienced tax professional to join our Westwood office as an International Senior Tax Manager. This role will serve as a key technical resource to the Tax practice, providing international tax guidance and oversight for complex matters involving ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families, family groups, closely held businesses, trusts, investment structures, and cross-border transactions.

The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise in U.S. international taxation, foreign asset and entity reporting, cross-border planning, and international information return compliance. Partnering closely with Tax Partners and engagement teams, this individual will review international filings, provide practical guidance tailored to sophisticated client structures, and strengthen the firm’s international tax capabilities through standardized processes, technical resources, and training.

What Will You Do:

  • Serve as an internal technical resource to the Tax department, advising clients and engagement teams on U.S. tax and reporting requirements associated with foreign assets, investments, entities, trusts, financial accounts, and income.
  • Provide technical guidance and review involving Forms 5471, 8865, 8858, 8938, 8621, 3520, 3520-A, FBAR/FinCEN Form 114, 8964-ELE, 8964-TRA, and other international information returns.
  • Analyze foreign entity classifications and ownership structures to determine applicable U.S. filing and disclosure requirements.
  • Provide guidance regarding Controlled Foreign Corporations (CFCs), Subpart F, Global Intangible Low-Taxed Income (GILTI), Passive Foreign Investment Companies (PFICs), foreign tax credits, IRC Sections 962 and 987, and related international tax provisions.
  • Assist engagement teams serving clients with interests in foreign corporations, partnerships, disregarded entities, trusts, funds, and other foreign investment structures.
  • Advise on foreign trusts, foreign gifts and inheritances, foreign pensions, foreign financial accounts, and other cross-border assets commonly encountered by ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families.
  • Advise on the international aspects of inbound and outbound transactions, including investments, business activities, ownership structures, and cross-border transfers.
  • Provide technical support regarding U.S. residency, expatriation, and immigration-related tax considerations, coordinating with legal counsel when appropriate.
  • Analyze treaty positions, foreign tax credits, withholding matters, and cross-border income sourcing, including for nonresident performers and athletes.
  • Review complex international tax positions to identify exposure or reporting gaps, and support engagement teams responding to IRS notices and examinations.
  • Monitor developments in international tax law, Treasury Regulations, IRS guidance, treaties, and reporting requirements, and communicate relevant updates throughout the Tax practice.
  • Partner with Tax Partners to develop standardized international tax checklists, questionnaires, procedures, technical guidance, and review protocols to promote consistency across the firm.
  • Develop and deliver technical training, and mentor Tax professionals on identifying international tax issues and foreign reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate with outside international tax counsel and other specialists when matters require additional expertise.
  • Work extended hours as needed and perform other related duties as assigned.

What Do You Need to Succeed:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Taxation, Finance, or a related field required.
  • Certified Public Accountant required. Master’s in Taxation or LL.M. in Taxation preferred.
  • 10+ years of relevant tax experience at a public accounting firm, law firm, or family office, including 5+ years focused on U.S. international taxation and international information reporting.
  • 5+ years of experience supervising, reviewing, and mentoring tax professionals.
  • Strong technical experience advising ultra-high-net-worth individuals, families, closely held businesses, trusts, and complex investment structures.
  • In-depth knowledge of the international information returns, tax provisions, and foreign structures listed above, including tax treaties, withholding, and cross-border income sourcing.
  • Experience with inbound and outbound transactions, U.S. residency, nonresident individuals, and expatriation matters.
  • Proven ability to research complex issues, review returns for accuracy, and translate technical requirements into practical guidance for clients and engagement teams.
  • Experience developing technical guidance, procedures, training materials, and/or internal tax resources.
  • Strong client relationship and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with Partners, engagement teams, attorneys, and outside specialists.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple complex matters and meet demanding deadlines.
  • Experience with Bloomberg Tax (BNA) and CCH Axcess, preferred.

Physical Requirements:
