Our Nephi, Utah facility is a cornerstone of our operations, and we are looking for an experienced, hands-on Lead Production Technician to set the pace on the floor and keep our operation producing at the highest level of quality and uptime.
Position Summary
This is a hands-on, working-lead role for an experienced technician who leads by example on the floor. As Lead Production Technician, you will run multiple aspects of the production process yourself while serving as the point person for a small, cross-trained team — coordinating daily workflow, mentoring fellow technicians, setting up and maintaining machines, and holding the line on quality. The right person is highly mechanical, an effective troubleshooter, and able to keep a team focused and productive under demanding production goals and tight deadlines. Key Responsibilities
• Serve as the working lead and point person for the department, setting the daily pace, priorities, and workflow to meet production goals, schedules, and tight deadlines.
• Operate and run multiple stages of the production process yourself, leading by example on the floor.
• Coordinate task assignments across a small, cross-trained team and keep work flowing efficiently.
• Train, mentor, and cross-train technicians, and assist with onboarding new team members.
• Set up, adjust, perform routine and preventive maintenance, and troubleshoot machinery to maximize uptime and ensure continuous run times; serve as the team’s go-to resource for difficult mechanical issues.
• Monitor quality across the team’s output, identifying and correcting issues before they reach the customer.
• Track production output and communicate status, obstacles, and quality concerns to supervision and management, escalating issues promptly.
• Model and reinforce all safety policies and housekeeping standards, including proper use of PPE and safe machine operation.
Requirements:Required Qualifications
• Extensive mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience operating, adjusting, and maintaining production machinery.
• Significant manufacturing or production experience in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, guide, or mentor others on a production floor.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve complex mechanical issues and keep machines running.
• Sharp attention to detail and a genuine commitment to quality.
• Dependable, self-directed, and able to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and people at once.
• Willingness to cross-train and to perform and direct multiple aspects of the production process.
Preferred Qualifications
• Prior lead, working-lead, or supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Experience in rubber, hose, or similar process manufacturing.
• Machine maintenance or mechanical repair experience.
• Forklift and/or other equipment certifications.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
This position works in an active manufacturing plant environment. It requires standing and walking for extended periods, bending, reaching, and lifting up to [75] pounds, and the use of required personal protective equipment, including steel-toed footwear.
