Job Description

Summary

The Scaffold Builder is responsible for the safe and efficient assembly, modification, and dismantling of scaffolding systems to support construction, maintenance, and facility operations. In addition to scaffolding work, this position assists with general maintenance and property upkeep to ensure the safe, clean, and efficient operation of the site.

Responsibilities:

  • Erect, alter, and dismantlevarious typesof scaffolding (tube and coupler, frame, or system)perspecifications and safety standards.
  • Inspect scaffolding components for damage, defects, or wear prior to use.
  • Ensure all scaffold structures meet OSHA and company safety requirements.
  • Perform routine property and facility maintenance, including basic repairs, cleaning, and upkeep of equipment and grounds.
  • Assistwith general maintenance tasks such as painting, light carpentry, and other site support duties as assigned.
  • Load, unload, and organize scaffolding materials and tools on-site.
  • Coordinate with supervisors and crew members to safely position and secure scaffolds for use by other trades.
  • Tag completed scaffolds withappropriate inspectionand use status.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Report any unsafe conditions, hazards, or equipment issuesimmediately.

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or GEDrequired.
  • Minimum of 1–3 years of scaffold building experience in an industrial, construction, or maintenance setting.
  • Scaffold Competent Certification Preferred.
  • NCCER Certificationrequired.
  • Experience with facility or property maintenance tasks preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret scaffold drawings and blueprints.
  • Strong understanding of scaffold components, materials, and load requirements.
  • Basic knowledge of hand and power tools used in maintenance and construction.
  • Ability to work safely at heights and in varying weather conditions.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to safety and attention to detail.
