Position Summary:
The Kitchen Porter/Dishwasher will play a vital part in ensuring that our kitchen operates efficiently and meets the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation. Your responsibilities will include maintaining cleanliness in all kitchen areas, operating dishwashing equipment, and assisting with basic food preparation tasks.

Reports to: Executive Chef or Sports Center Kitchen Manager
Supervises: None
Employment Status: Seasonal
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate dishwashing machine and 3-compartment sinks to clean dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
- Wash worktables, walls, refrigerators, and other kitchen surfaces.
- Sweep, mop, and clean kitchen floors to maintain cleanliness and sanitation.
- Remove trash and garbage to designated disposal areas.
- Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas, such as pantry and dish room.
- Clean kitchen equipment using specified chemicals to meet sanitation standards.
- Assist with basic food preparation and pot washing.
- Adhere to all health, food safety, and sanitation regulations at all times.
- Follow safety procedures for operating and cleaning machinery.
- Participate in safety meetings, trainings, and hazard assessments as required.
- May perform other duties as assigned by the Sports Center Kitchen Manager or Executive Chef.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of and ability to perform required duties during emergency situations.
- Ability to maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment, especially during peak hours.
- A willingness to learn and contribute to the team.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Required to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks such as walking, climbing stairs, balancing, bending, kneeling, crouching, stretching, and twisting.
- Ability to push, pull, or lift up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent repetitive motions and standing.
- Ability to work under stress in a hot, fast-paced kitchen environment.
