Job Description
The President, Sinai Medical Group & Physician Enterprise serves as the senior executive leader responsible for the overall performance, growth, and strategic direction of Sinai Medical Group and the broader physician enterprise. This role provides executive oversight for physician recruitment, provider workforce planning, physician compensation, provider engagement, network development, strategic partnerships, and ambulatory growth.
The President serves as the primary executive accountable for ensuring that Sinai possesses the physician capacity, provider network, ambulatory infrastructure, and strategic partnerships necessary to achieve organizational growth, improve access, enhance patient outcomes, and fulfill its mission of serving the community.
This leader aligns physician enterprise strategy with organizational priorities and oversees the ambulatory platform through direct leadership of Ambulatory Operations and Access.
Provides executive leadership and accountability for all aspects of Sinai Medical Group including:
- Strategic direction and growth
- Organizational performance and accountability
- Medical Group culture and engagement
- Financial stewardship
- Provider workforce planning
- Ambulatory service expansion
- Alignment with organizational mission and strategic priorities
- Serves as the executive sponsor and leader of Sinai Medical Group governance and performance.
Physician Enterprise Leadership
Leads the development and management of Sinai's physician enterprise across all care settings.
Responsibilities include:
- Physician recruitment and retention
- Advanced Practice Provider recruitment and deployment
- Provider workforce planning
- Physician compensation administration and strategy
- Physician onboarding and assimilation
- Provider engagement and retention initiatives
- Physician employment agreements
- Professional service agreements (PSAs)
- Coverage agreements and provider deployment strategies
- Physician performance management in partnership with Human Resources and the Chief Medical Officer
- Provider productivity oversight
- Ensures appropriate physician coverage and clinical service capacity across the health system.
Ambulatory Operations Oversight
Provides executive oversight of the ambulatory platform through leadership of the Vice President, Ambulatory Operations & Access.
Responsibilities include:
- Ambulatory operational performance
- Access strategy and performance
- Clinic growth and expansion
- Scheduling optimization
- Referral management
- Capacity planning
- Ambulatory patient experience
- Ambulatory financial performance
- Productivity and efficiency initiatives
- Maintains accountability for overall Medical Group operational performance.
Network Development & Strategic Partnerships
Develops and maintains strategic relationships that support physician enterprise growth and service expansion.
Responsibilities include:
- Academic affiliations
- Medical school partnerships
- Residency and fellowship relationships
- Physician network development
- Community physician partnerships
- Strategic clinical affiliations
- Joint ventures and collaborative arrangements
- External physician organization relationships
- Serves as a primary ambassador for Sinai Medical Group within the physician community.
Clinical Business Development
Partners with organizational leaders to identify and execute opportunities for growth.
Responsibilities include:
- Service line expansion
- New program development
- Physician-driven growth initiatives
- Market opportunity identification
- Clinical partnership development
- Strategic growth planning
- Business case development
- New service implementation oversight
- Works closely with Growth, Finance, Operations, and Clinical Leadership to evaluate and implement growth opportunities.
Financial Stewardship
Provides executive oversight of Medical Group financial performance including:
- Medical Group operating budget
- Physician compensation management
- Provider productivity
- Capital planning recommendations
- Resource allocation
- Financial performance monitoring
- Partners with Finance to ensure sustainable growth and operational excellence.
Qualifications
Education
- Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Health, or related field required.
- Medical degree preferred but not required.
Experience
- Minimum 10 years of progressive healthcare leadership experience.
- Experience leading physician enterprises, medical groups, ambulatory operations, or provider networks.
- Demonstrated success in physician recruitment, provider workforce strategy, and ambulatory growth.
- Experience developing strategic partnerships and physician affiliations.
- Strong financial and operational management experience.
