Job Description
As the Lodge Shop Supervisor at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort, you’ll run one of the most visible retail operations on the property — a shop that serves guests who have traveled from around the world to experience some of the best golf anywhere. You’ll lead the day-to-day of the Lodge Shop, from coaching your team and keeping displays sharp to analyzing what’s selling and making sure the numbers work. This role is part retail management, part merchandising strategy, and entirely guest-facing. You’ll make real decisions about what’s on the floor, how it’s presented, and how your team shows up every day.
- Run the shop, day in and day out. You’ll manage scheduling and timecards, maintain clean and fully stocked displays, and make sure the Lodge Shop consistently meets the resort’s standards for appearance and service.
- Own the merchandising. Recommend markup and markdown strategies and evaluate current display techniques to maximize sales, inventory turns and profit margins.
- Keep inventory tight. You’ll conduct quarterly inventories, implement receiving and inventory control procedures, and take proactive steps to minimize shrinkage and loss.
- Develop your team. You’ll coach, train, and support Lodge Shop staff — from onboarding new hires to building sales skills on the floor. You’ll also assist with staff selection and contribute to training plans.
- Report on what’s happening. You’ll serve as a resource to resort management on purchasing decisions, special orders, and logo merchandise.
This role includes schedule flexibility across days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. You’ll be on your feet for extended periods and should be comfortable lifting up to 30 lbs.
- You have retail or merchandising experience. At least a year in a retail or merchandising role gives you the foundation you need here. Golf or hospitality industry experience is a plus, but not required.
- You’ve led a team before. Whether that’s formal supervisory experience or stepping into a lead role, you know how to coach people, hold standards, and keep a team functioning well.
- You’re comfortable with numbers. Merchandising is part art, part math. You should be able to read a sales report, understand margins, and use data to make better decisions about what to stock and how to price it.
- You communicate clearly. You can talk to guests, collaborate with resort management, and give your team the direction they need — all in a professional, approachable way.
- You stay composed when it gets busy. Peak season at a world-class resort is high-volume and fast-paced. You handle pressure well, adapt quickly, and maintain your standards even when things get hectic.
- Comprehensive Benefits Package: Enjoy a well-rounded benefits package that covers your health, wellness, and financial future.
- Paid Time Off: Take the time you need to relax and recharge with our PTO plan.
- Free Golf Privileges: Tee off at some of the most iconic courses in the world with complimentary golf access.
- Quarterly Incentives: When our team meets resort-wide performance goals, we get rewarded.
- Complimentary Lunch: Stay energized with a complimentary lunch in our Staff Cafe during your shift.
- Resort Discounts: Save on dining and merchandise throughout the resort.
- Supportive Work Environment: Be part of a team that supports your growth and success, with opportunities to thrive in a collaborative atmosphere.
- Career Growth: Take advantage of continuous training and development opportunities to advance your career.
If you enjoy the mix of people leadership, creative merchandising, and day-to-day retail operations, this role is worth a close look. You’ll report to the Resort Retail Manager and work in one of the most beautiful and celebrated resort settings in the country.
