This position oversees all mechanical, electrical, and structural systems to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and safety procedures specific to educational and church environments. The role demands proactive management of facility safety protocols and the coordination of maintenance activities to support uninterrupted operations. The Building Engineer will supervise technical staff, including HVAC technicians, to ensure high-quality service delivery and efficient problem resolution. Ultimately, this position ensures that the facility remains safe, functional, and compliant, supporting the broader organizational goals of tenant satisfaction and asset preservation.Minimum Qualifications: Certification in HVAC or equivalent technical certification. Proven experience managing large educational or religious facilities. Demonstrated knowledge of facility safety procedures and compliance standards specific to private schools and churches. Experience supervising technical staff or technicians. Strong facility maintenance skills with a background in facilities management. Preferred Qualifications: Experience specifically in educational or church facility environments. Additional certifications related to commercial building operations or safety compliance. Familiarity with community recreational facility management within private properties. Advanced training in energy management or sustainable building practices. Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS). Responsibilities: Manage and maintain all building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and structural components, to ensure operational efficiency and safety. Ensure compliance with school-specific regulations and church facility safety procedures by conducting regular inspections and audits. Supervise and coordinate the work of technicians and maintenance staff, providing guidance and support to optimize team performance. Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and extend the lifespan of facility equipment. Respond promptly to facility emergencies and service requests, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate repairs to minimize disruption. Skills: Managing a private school and church facility requires daily application of specialized skills to ensure safe and efficient operations that comply with specific safety regulations. The Building Engineer must possess strong facility maintenance and HVAC certification to resolve mechanical issues effectively.Supervision skills are vital for overseeing technicians, delegating tasks related to maintenance, groundskeeping, and inventory management while maintaining high service quality. A solid understanding of safety procedures is essential for compliance with legal requirements and for reducing risk for students and congregants.Preferred experience in recreational facility management enhances the ability to address diverse needs and utilize technology, such as CMMS, for maintenance planning. Conducting background checks on all staff is crucial to ensuring a safe environment.
