About the role

Epiphany School seeks a part-time Instructional Assistant for the 2026-2027 school year for our lower school division, supporting three pre-kindergarten classrooms. The ideal Instructional Assistant candidate will collaborate with grade-level teams and specialists to support a diverse range of daily tasks and teaching. This includes assisting with delivering the curriculum, managing supplies and resources, working with the students, and other activities to support teaching and learning in the homeroom and specialist classrooms. This position will also participate in robust professional learning and school community events.

This is a non-exempt, part-time, academic year position reporting to the Lower Elementary Assistant Head of School.

Standard school operating hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 4:00pm during the academic year. The daily schedule for this role will be determined, but this role is expected to work 4 hours Monday through Friday between 8:30am – 3:10pm.

Expected start date for the 2026-27 school year is August 19, 2026, to attend new employee orientation (8/19/26 – 8/20/27), pre-service the week of August 24th, and first day of school is September 1st, 2026. Expected end date is June 15th, 2027.

Primary Responsibilities

Assist lead teacher and specialist teachers on planning and teaching the curriculumWork with students as a class, small group, and individuallyAssist in classroom managementSupport class in specialist programs when requiredAct as classroom lead when lead teacher is not present; Teach students directly as a co-teacher and during re-teaching/enrichment periodsCollaborate with teaching team on planning, curriculum and themes for program alignmentCollaborate with teams in our Professional Learning CommunityUtilize equitable practices that support all learnersPrepare and restore classroom and suppliesSupport student assessment processHelp classroom teachers and learning specialists assess individual students’ needsAssist with coordination and monitoring of teaching activities, including field trips and on-site experiencesMay be requested to join lead teacher during conferences

Typical Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Epiphany School seeks candidates who have demonstrated a commitment to collaboration and lifelong learning, as well as an expertise in best practices in elementary education Bachelor’s degree in relevant field(s) or a combination of education and experience preferredTeaching Certification and endorsement in grade or field preferredExperience teaching or working with children in early elementaryExcellent oral, written, and presentational communication skills in the English languageStrong interpersonal and conflict resolution skillsExperience and comfort working in a Microsoft environment including MS Office  Must be collaborative, proactive, resourceful, and organizedAbility to multi-task and to maintain professionalism in a creative and changing environmentCommitment to supporting a diverse community of learnersAbility to maintain a sense of calm during emergencies Ability to balance competing priorities while maintaining excellent attention to detail and striving to build efficienciesCommitment to student and family confidentialityMeet all Epiphany School health and safety training requirements

Additional training is required to work with our Pre-K students which include:

Ability to obtain the following (the school will cover all associated costs to obtain) Background check including fingerprintingWA State Food Handlers Permit STARS 30-hour child-care basics training Proof of a negative TB test Proof of MMR immunization Bloodborne pathogens trainingCPR/First Aid certification

Compensation & Benefits

The salary range for this role is prorated based on full-time equivalency between $23,789 - $29,666, according to Epiphany School’s instructional assistant pay scale and based on the years of paid experience. When determining an initial offer, we carefully consider these factors and will ask the intended hire for documentation to verify the correct pay level.

While this role is not eligible to receive the full benefits package, these benefits are still included:
