About the Role:

The Adapted EC Teacher - Elementary plays a critical role in delivering specialized educational instruction tailored to meet the unique needs of elementary students with disabilities. This position focuses on creating and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) that promote academic growth, social development, and independence. The teacher collaborates closely with families, support staff, and general education teachers to ensure a cohesive and inclusive learning environment. Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
• Valid state exceptional children teaching certification/license.
• Demonstrated knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
• Experience working with elementary-aged students with diverse disabilities.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Education or related discipline.
• Experience with assistive technology and adaptive instructional tools.
• Training in behavior management techniques and positive behavioral interventions.
• Familiarity with Response to Intervention (RTI) frameworks and data-driven instruction.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's specific needs and goals.
• Deliver specialized instruction in core academic subjects using adapted curricula and evidence-based teaching methods.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including speech therapists, occupational therapists, counselors, and general education teachers to support student progress.
• Maintain accurate records of student performance, behavior, and progress, and communicate regularly with parents and guardians.
• Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and social interaction.

Exceptional Children knowledge is applied daily to design and deliver instruction that meets the individualized needs of students with disabilities, ensuring compliance with legal and educational standards.
