Overview
Reactor Services is a project engineering organization within the nuclear operations directorate at Electric Boat. Reactor Services is looking for engineers to support new construction nuclear operations work for both Virginia and Columbia Class submarines. The candidate will be required to qualify as a Shift Fueling Engineer (SFE) in accordance with the requirements of New Construction Nuclear Reactor Servicing Manual (NRSM). This position provides the candidate the opportunity to lead trade and engineering organizations to execute nuclear evolutions; including the installation and removal of major hydrostatic test equipment, preparation and installation of the nuclear reactor, reactor plant module (RPM) moves and reactor compartment end loads.
Other duties include procedure preparations, equipment maintenance, testing and certification, trade training sessions and briefings and team dry run qualifications. The candidate will interface with nuclear and non-nuclear engineering groups, shipyard operations management, vendors, shipyard trades as well as local regulators throughout ships construction. This position will require the candidate to lead high visibility operations to support the delivery of submarines to the Navy.

Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor of Science degree in an Engineering field
- 5+ years of related post graduate engineering experience
- Ability to obtain and maintain a secret level DOD security clearance
Preferred:
- Previously qualified as an SFE at Electric Boat
- Experience with Lifting and Handling
- Basic knowledge of reactor plant systems and components
- Experience working to written procedures
