What You'll Do

As a Personal Support Worker (PSW), you will provide one-to-one care to clients in their homes — supporting their health, comfort, and independence every day.

Provide personal care and hygiene assistanceSupport mobility, transfers, and safe movement — including mechanical liftsAssist with activities of daily living (ADLs) including dressing, grooming, and toiletingPrepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding when requiredProvide companionship, conversation, and emotional supportMonitor client wellbeing and report changes in condition to the care teamFollow individualized care plans and document care activities accuratelySupport clients with light household tasks related to their careAccompany clients during outings or appointments when required

What the Work Actually Feels Like

You will travel between client homes within your local community You will provide one-to-one home care in clients' private residences — working independently with the support of a professional care teamSchedules include days, evenings, weekends, and overnights depending on your availability and client needsMileage is paid for all travel between clients during your shiftMany of our PSWs tell us the most rewarding part of this role is the meaningful relationships they build with clients and families

Qualifications

Personal Support Worker (PSW) Certificate or approved equivalentFirst Aid & CPR certificationValid driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicleAbility to travel between client homes in your regionStrong communication skills and ability to follow written and verbal care instructionsVulnerable Sector Check required prior to start
