Job Description
This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for an IT Systems Engineer in the United States.
This role sits at the intersection of systems engineering, IT operations, and security, with a strong emphasis on building a seamless and secure employee technology experience. You will take ownership of IT infrastructure improvements, focusing on automation, integration of SaaS platforms, and identity and access management. The position combines hands-on technical execution with strategic ownership of IT initiatives, including security roadmap execution and compliance readiness such as SOC 2 Type II. You will act as a key escalation point for complex IT issues while collaborating closely with a managed service provider handling day-to-day support and IAM operations. Working cross-functionally with engineering, people operations, legal, and compliance teams, you will help shape scalable and secure systems in a fast-paced, remote-first environment. This is a high-impact role ideal for someone who thrives on solving complex infrastructure challenges while continuously improving security, automation, and user experience.
- Own end-to-end IT systems engineering initiatives, focusing on improving SaaS integration, identity systems, automation, and overall security posture across the organization.
- Serve as the Level 3 escalation point for complex IT issues, coordinating closely with managed service providers responsible for Level 1–2 support, IAM, and device provisioning.
- Drive IT security and compliance initiatives, including SOC 2 Type II readiness, and contribute to broader security governance and risk management activities.
- Manage and optimize IT vendor relationships, ensuring service quality, SLA adherence, security compliance, and cost-effective operations.
- Lead IT roadmap execution by designing, implementing, and iterating on systems improvements across tools, workflows, and infrastructure.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support secure, scalable systems that enhance employee experience and operational efficiency.
- Continuously improve IT processes through automation, monitoring, debugging, and system optimization best practices.
- 5+ years of experience in IT systems engineering or a similar role in a fast-paced or growth-stage environment.
- Strong expertise in identity and access management, including SAML, SCIM, IdP/IAM, and directory services.
- Experience with ITSM platforms, MDM solutions, and organizational unit (OU) structures.
- Proven ability to automate IT workflows, build integrations, and improve operational reporting.
- Familiarity with security frameworks and tools such as DLP, EDR, ZTNA, and cloud security (Google Cloud Platform experience is a plus).
- Strong project ownership skills with the ability to independently design, execute, and iterate on complex technical initiatives.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience working in regulated environments (healthcare or HIPAA-regulated industries strongly preferred).
- Strong analytical thinking, time management, and problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Comfort using AI-driven tools and modern automation techniques to enhance IT operations.
- Competitive medical, vision, and health insurance, with many fully covered employee plans.
- Generous PTO starting at 20 days (4 weeks), increasing with tenure up to 6 weeks.
- 10 paid company holidays annually.
- Work-from-home stipend to support remote work setup.
- 401(k) contribution program for long-term financial planning.
- Additional benefits including life insurance, short- and long-term disability coverage, virtual primary care, and financial wellness resources.
- Opportunity to work in a mission-driven environment focused on improving access to evidence-based healthcare.
